Here you go! The second question for The Vintage Collection Conversation is here!
“What existing 3.75″ Star Wars super-articulated figure would you like to see updated with new parts or deco to create a new version of that character or possibly even a totally new character? Name the figures and the parts. Be descriptive!lated format?”
You can comment here to share your thoughts and provide some inspiration, but only comments posted on Instagram will be submitted to the Hasbro Development team. GO!
There was some overwhelming The Vintage Collection goodness presented at Toy Fair this year, but a lot of that great stuff isn’t coming until 2019. In the meantime, we’re going to have to plug through 2018. There are some significant figures arriving in 2018. But with Hasbro throwing out so much information at once, it’s hard to remember what’s coming next. We have put together two waves for 2018 (after wave 1) which we believe make the most sense for the figures already announced. Click through to see what we came up with, and leave your thoughts in the comments of what you’d also like to see this year!
Tonight we are adding the Tamashii Nations Onmitsu Shadowtrooper Meisho Movie Realization figure to our Visual Guide database. Click below to have a look at this figure, and make sure to read our full review right here. We’d like to thank Tamashii Nations for sending us this review sample!
Here on JTA we discuss all things Star Wars, we argue about which action figure line is the best, we criticize Hasbro for repacks and at least some of us love to moan about the sequel trilogy.
But let’s talk about what we love: our Star Wars collection. We discuss action figures all day here on JTA – but we rarely get to see what you actually collect. So I thought it would be a good idea to create the opportunity to show everyone what you collect. (more…)
Some images have surfaced of the new line of Hot Wheels Starships from the upcoming Solo movie. Check out eBay Leaks for the story, and share your thoughts in the comments!

Back in August 2017, we provided you with a fantastic rumor report of upcoming The Black Series 6″ figures. One figure has been holding out for a while now as not being officially confirmed, but Amazon.com has updated their listings of this long-awaited figure we shared with you as coming almost a year ago! Special thanks to all who wrote in about this confirmation!
Well, it’s official. Luke’s wife’s name is Camie. (I have no idea if it’s Camie Loneozner or not, but I wonder what happened to Fixer.) It will be interesting to see what comes of this in the canon. If it is her, I will update this post.
From our source: “We have the Novelization in our inventory now, and I was able to skim thru it. Luke’s wife’s name is…………Cammie. A new name for Canon “Cammie Skywalker.” And Luke still misses his old friend, Biggs Darklighter. He now considers Biggs one of his only true friends. That was about all I could get from it skimming thru the prologue.”
I don’t know if it’s a misspelling or not, but notice the double “m.” Camie is one “m.”
Here you go! The first question for The Vintage Collection Conversation is here!
“What are your top 3 Star Wars Characters that have never before been made in super-articulated format?”
You can comment here to share your thoughts and provide some inspiration, but only comments posted on Instagram will be submitted to the Hasbro Development team. GO!

Site Green Card Back has a nice image of The Vintage Collection first wave up. We haven’t seen this image until now, so we thought you would like to see it as well. I know this first wave is rough, but let’s hunker down, pray for daylight and get through it so we can enjoy the magnificence coming shortly afterward! Special thanks to my good friend Josh M. for this alert!

Jakks Pacific, known by most here for making large scale Star Wars figures, reports a net loss for 2017 of 83.1 million USD.
2017 saw fewer sales for Star Wars, Frozen and Tsum Tsum. Net sales for the fiscal year were 613.1 million USD, which is 13.1% less than in 2016. This is in line with the overall downward trend for Star Wars toys in 2017. Jakks Pacific cites various reasons for the loss but singles out the TRU bankruptcy in the US as a contributing factor and less interest in some film licenses.
Have you bought a Jakks Pacific Star Wars figure in 2017?

The Vintage Collection conversation continues. The Vintage Collection is back in 2018! Steve Evans, Design Director at Hasbro for Star Wars, needs your help in deciding what figures, ships and playsets to do in the future. There are just too many to choose from! All comments will be made public and are not confidential. No credit or compensation will be given for any ideas. Leave your choices on the Hasbro Pulse Instagram page! Hasbro is checking this page every day too, so you can also leave your comments in this article or other articles like it.
We’ve hit another milestone today, hitting the 2000 mark with 36 days to go. What are you waiting for? Back the Barge! Thanks to JTA reader Agustín for the alert and screenshot!
ABC News has released a new documentary, The Force of Sound, that explores the process of creating sound for the Star Wars galaxy. Our friends at Star Wars Figuren have added what looks to be packaging images from Hasbro’s impressive The Vintage Collection Rogue One Hovertank. Check it out!
It does appear as if Hasbro is doing its part in advertising Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna). I have received multiple emails since Toy Fair, and each has something about this HasLab initiative in it. I personally feel Hasbro should be tagging celebrity Star Wars fans/collectors like Chris Hartwick and Donald Faison (amongst MANY others) on Twitter and Facebook to spread the word. There are some people out there that are influenced by celebrities that they’d probably buy one just to believe they’re making the celebrity happy. (Sarcasm, folks.)
It seemed like the perfect time to back another Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna). Be sure you back at least one too!
As we approach the end of catching ourselves up with the S.H. Figuarts line, we are saving some of the best figures for last. Luke Skywalker (A New Hope) may be the greatest figure in the line. We’re not kidding. See why in our Research Droids Reviews today! Be sure to leave your thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even comment about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! As always, you can also send your review requests via email if you’d like to see something that we didn’t cover yet.
I have an honest question for you, so I am seeking genuine answers. For those of you on the fence with backing Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna), if Hasbro included the highly sought-after Salacious Crumb (VC66) and Mouse Droid (VC67) miniature carded figures, would that be enough to make you take the plunge? They almost never show up on eBay anymore, are HUGE holes for 95% of The Vintage Collection collectors, and go for ridiculous amounts of money on eBay. (Click either thumbnails below to see what I mean.) Let us know your thoughts in our comments. It would cost next to nothing for Hasbro to produce these and add them to this campaign as a bonus. I believe that bonus/exclusive carded figures in this campaign are what is going to push people over to deciding yes.
Anakin Skywalker (Attack of the Clones) gets added to our S.H. Figuarts Visual Guide tonight. Click below to check out our full guide page. You can also get additional information on this figure in our full review right here.
JTA sponsor Dorkside Toys also has The Black Series [Phase III] Darth Revan figure up for pre-order for September availability!
IGN has put together an excellent video which discusses the real problems with Hasbro’ first HasLab project. While excited to see it get produced (and one-half of the team wants this thing), they go into great detail about why this may not have the steam behind it that it should. One example is lack of exclusive pack-in figures. I feel strongly that if five EXCLUSIVE skiff guards were included with this set that this would have reached its minimum order by now. Hasbro needs to understand the power of exclusive figured and when it’s essential and necessary to include them in exclusives like this. Anyway, check out the video and come back and leave your thoughts here. PLEASE BACK THE BARGE!
BREAKING NEWS! Darth Revan is returning in a solid case pack for a September delivery! JTA sponsor Empire Toys has the figure up for order! It’s great that Hasbro has finally decided to do this for this highly sought-after figure!
UPDATE: We have learned that these solid case assortments will be “exclusive” through Entertainment Earth and all supplies through another vendor will come from EE. We are unable to confirm this completely, so stay tuned for more.

Supervising sound editor Matthew Wood revealed to ABC News that the decision has been made to move on from the famous Wilhelm scream, which was absent from Rogue One and The Last Jedi. The distinctive scream was named by legendary sound designer Ben Burtt and it was included in the first seven films in the Star Wars saga. Woods commented, “We’re letting the past die, as Kylo Ren says.” He also revealed that they have begun to put a new signature scream into current and upcoming films. This seems to be part of a larger shift in philosophy, as Ben Burtt himself is no longer involved with the Star Wars franchise. Vanity Fair asked Burtt about his exclusion from Disney’s Star Wars productions and commented, “I was just never consulted or hired to do any of them. No one’s ever told me why.” Burtt concluded by saying, “You know that line in Indiana Jones, ‘It belongs in a museum’? That’s me. I’m a museum piece.” Click here to read the fill interview with Burtt.
Rumor: Luke Skywalker’s love interest is revealed in The Last Jedi novelization. Dork Side Of The Force has the full story. SPOILERS!

JJ Abrams revealed on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert yesterday that the script for Star Wars Episode IX is complete.
Now, whether that is just the first draft or the actual shooting script is not confirmed. Filming for Episode IX is scheduled to begin in July 2018. So there would still be enough time to tweak the script.
One quote from Abrams’ interview stands out: “Having a script in advance is something we haven’t always been lucky enough to have.”
What are your hopes and fears concerning Episode IX? Do you think JJ Abrams and Chris Terrio can bring the sequel trilogy to a satisfying conclusion? What’s your wishlist of things you’d like to see, or maybe you’d rather not see at all?
And: will JJ Abrams somehow include a scene with a sail barge in the script?
Watch the clip with Abrams here.

JTA would like to wish Andy Ochiltree, former Senior Manager, Global Brand Marketing, Star Wars, well. He received a promotion and is now the Senior Manager, Global Brand Development & Marketing for NERF. He has done a great deal to get us where we are with The Vintage Collection. We’d also like to welcome Patrick Schneider who will take Andy’s place and former title. Patrick is also in charge of case assortments, and we will be holding him very accountable for his case assortment choices (as he already knows from our Toy Fair conversation). 🙂
Patrick, along with Joe Ninivaggi and Steve Evans will continue overseeing the Star Wars Brand.

Hasbro, just to provide you with a single example that JTA isn’t the only fan site desperate to see the Original 92 Kenner figures updated in the modern line, please check out our friend Adam Pawlus’ post at Galactic Hunter. He lists the same characters we have been campaigning for a while now. And he’s right. They need to get made stat. We couldn’t agree more with him. Check it out!
WOW! Steve Evans, Design Director for Hasbro, confirms in our comments that Yak Face will come with a soft-goods coat. I don’t think we can take much more goodness, Steve! But please show us Sim Aloo at your earliest convenience. Thank you!

Steve Evans has been interviewed by StarWars.com and goes into detail about the revolutionary new process for the “photorealistic” technology applied to The Black Series 6″ figures. It’s a major reason why these figures look so good now. Check it out the article!
And he’s the long-awaited and totally awesome Yak Face! We got to see this at Toy Fair. Now you get to see it!
How many of you missed The Vintage Collection update to Klaatu (Skiff Guard Outfit) at the HasLab website? This figure is coming, courtesy of Steve Evans and it is gorgeous! Hasbro is remaining true to their word of bringing back important aliens from Jabba’s Palace and the Cantina. More to come!

(Thumbnail stolen from BanthaSkull.com.) We have eleven (11) good reasons why you should INVEST in the HasLab Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna). If history isn’t any indication that we should, at the very least, learn from our mistakes, I don’t know what is. Click through to see why the $500 backing price is only the jumping off point for where this thing’s value can go. UPDATE: PRESS RELEASE added.
Here is a tip for you that might make the backing of Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna) a reality if $500 is just too much at once for your budget. We have NO IDEA why Hasbro gave us all such a sudden and short window to promote and support this item, but here is an option for you that might be more realistic. If you back this vehicle using PayPal Credit, the $500 won’t charge until April 3rd, and then you have six months to pay it off, which comes to about $91 a month. It’s an option for those who are waiting for income tax return checks and who just need more time to save up money. Good luck. Special thanks to JTA reader Jimmy K. for the idea. Back the Khetanna HERE. (Remember, we are NOWHERE near making this a reality yet.)

There is rightfully a lot of angst with international collectors over securing the Khetanna Sail Barge. If you currently live outside the USA, this is YOUR CHANCE to let Hasbro know that you desperately want to back this great vehicle. In our comments, please express your desire to back this item and also please list your country. This will give Hasbro a baseline of what they may need to do next to get international collectors to become a part of this campaign. Hasbro is watching, so be sure to leave your comments right away!
The S.H. Figuarts Kylo Ren (The Force Awakens) figure is divine. It’s the best one they’ve done. Find out why in our Research Droids Reviews today! Here is our Hasbro Q&A session! We had the joy of rapid-firing questions to Hasbro along with our friends at Jedi News and Bantha Skull. You’ll hear various people ask questions. One of the first questions I asked should allay your fears about the future of The Vintage Collection, so be sure to give it a listen. Click through for more!
Yeah, baby! You read that right. We are TRULY getting back to the good old days when Hasbro focused on the best line in the world: The Vintage Collection. JTA has learned that there will be a The Vintage Collection focused San Diego Comic-Con exclusive this year! Feel free to speculate on what it will be in our comments!
Despite what you may have read or seen elsewhere, The Black Series [Phase III] red/black packaging will not be changing until 2019 the earliest (and it may go beyond that). It will not update with the Solo: A Star Wars Story product launch. This was confirmed by Steve Evans at the Hasbro Toy Fair Fan Event today during the Q&A session.

It’s time to put up or shut up, folks. A miracle has happened. And we all are responsible for making sure it becomes a reality. Although Hasbro was inspired to choose the Khetanna as their first HasbroLab vehicle because of the fan site coordinated “Bring on the Barge” campaign we participated in years ago, the only way this is happening is if you vote with your dollars and financially back this thing. We congratulate Hasbro on alienating those who just wait for clearance. If you don’t back this piece, you will be forever without it. This thing is a gem, and if you want to see future HasbroLab concepts brought to the table (like a Death Star for example), this is your chance to put your money where your mouth is. Don’t let this slip through our fingers. Skip a meal, skip your car payment, go on a cable television purge for six months. Just allow Hasbro to make this glorious vehicle for us! Expect JTA to hound you about backing this vehicle until the deadline. Oh, and it’s a hard deadline. If we don’t have 5000 backers by April 3rd, this vehicle is HISTORY.
Back your Khetanna Sail Barge RIGHT HERE!

Ron Howard and Jon Favreau revealed on Twitter that Favreau will provide the voice for a “very cool & important alien character” in Solo: A Star Wars Story. You can actually see the four-armed alien in the trailer for the film. Of course, this isn’t Favreau’s first time voicing a Star Wars character since he provided the voice for Pre Vizsla in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Check out the full story at Entertainment Weekly!
Yes, you read the headline correctly. ILM VFX Supervisor Mike Mullholland recently revealed that a change was made to the design of Kylo Ren’s TIE Silencer after Rian Johnson received an early prototype of the ship’s toy counterpart. Apparently, the original plan was to have the missiles on the underside of the ship but they were switched to the side of the wings since that’s where they were located on the toy version of the ship. So it appears a toy influenced a film in this case. Head over to io9 for the full story!
A new Han and Lando novel is coming soon…

Wow. Is there actual hope that Solo: A Star Wars Story could be a great Disney Star Wars film? We’re continuing to keep the conversation going while recapping major points for The Vintage Collection right before Toy Fair! (We’re now going to revisit THIS POST to refresh our memories about a very important detail for TVC’s return!) If you listened to the SDCC Hasbro Q&A (which was a team effort between JTA and Victoria’s Cantina – check it out HERE), you remember Hasbro saying something that was as loud as clashing cymbals. It was also very heartwarming to fans of The Vintage Collection. When asked about working aliens/patrons from A New Hope (Chalmun’s Cantina) and Return Of The Jedi (Jabba’s Palace/skiff guards) into the planning of TVC they said “Absolutely, that’s kind of one of the main reasons we brought [The Vintage Collection] back. It is.” So, let us know what Cantina and Jabba’s Palace/Skiff Guards you want in this year’s model of The Vintage Collection!

For today’s topic, let us know what you’re anticipating the most from Hasbro at Toy Fair this year. Are you dying for a vast The Vintage Collection lineup reveal? Well, it’s official. Hasbro’s shares slump. Part of the cause? Star Wars toys fail to boost sales. My own conjecture: Disney, let Hasbro do what their best at: super-articulated action figures of characters people want, not what YOU want us to have. Give them back their autonomy please! CNBC has the full story.

Disney CEO Bob Iger tells investors that the company is close to revealing at least one of the producing teams behind one of the projects. Weiss would be creating a new trilogy of Star Wars feature films, Disney CEO Bob Iger told investors Tuesday that the company is developing more than one Star Wars TV series. (more….)

Serious question: Why once Kylo Ren assassinated Supreme Leader Snoke, did the Elite Praetorian Guard legion go on the offensive against him and Rey? Other than creating a cool fight scene in the film, it seems pointless in retrospect, doesn’t it? Let me explain. Who was left for them to protect after Snoke’s demise? Wouldn’t Kylo Ren be next in charge? Wouldn’t it be the equivalent of Dorothy splashing the Wicked Witch of the West with water, freeing her army? Is it none of the above? Is the answer a simple one? Is it a complex one? Has this been discussed in some new EU novel that I will never read? Is it a plot hole? Or is it something that doesn’t matter? Let me know in the comments.

French site Star Wars Black Serie France is claiming baseless rumors abound that Hasbro is seeking to stop the production of 6″ and 3.75″ super-articulated figures. The problem? They have no sources cited and just a list of reasons why it would make sense if this happened (something that is already discussed on multiple Star Wars fan sites daily) like unsatisfactory sales, and no movement of the products at retail. Years before the Disney takeover, rumors like this existed, but they have been quelled for years. Besides, why would Hasbro bring back The Vintage Collection only to cancel it a few months after its re-launch. Anyway, check out the rough translation, and let us know in our comments how Hasbro could ensure success of both super-articulated scales at retail.
