The Star Wars Retro Collection is inspired by the 1980s STAR WARS figures and features original figure design and detailing! Continue your collection from the galaxy far, far away!

Well, this is certainly interesting. Hasbro opted to take the Retro Collection Tusken Raider figure from the Star Wars six-figure multipack and use it as a base for a Disney Star Wars interpretation of the Tusken Warrior. They repainted it, gave it a soft-goods cloak, and called it a day. For obvious reasons, the final figure now has strong ties to the original Kenner line. Now, if only we could get this version of the Tusken Warrior produced and released in The Vintage Collection. The Book Of Boba Fett Tusken Warrior figure is nearly an inverse of the classic 1978 SW Sand People figure. Where there is dark brown on the vintage Kenner release, it is now tan, and vice versa. These characters interact with Boba Fett in the Disney+ series, so it’s fitting that Hasbro also released Boba Fett (Dune Sea) in this same wave assortment so these figures could be displayed together. The Tusken Warrior also comes with a nostalgic gaderffi stick. Because the cloak is interchangeable, you have multiple display options with this action figure. We feel the paint operations are all right but aren’t extraordinary or screen-accurate. How can it be authentic when they’re using the design of a 1978 action figure to recreate a brand-new character from the Disney Star Wars series? Tusken Raiders and Warriors are fan-favorite characters in the Star Wars universe, so this might be one of the better-selling figures in the wave. But Retro Collection, in general, doesn’t appear to be doing all that well, as evidenced by the plethora of unsold products at discount chains like Ollie’s. Still, the Retro Collection seems to appeal to the many who adore the vintage Kenner lineup and not much more. But with that said, Hasbro needs to step up its game with this format, or it will become so stale that no one can chew it any longer.
