Wow. As if Hasbro couldn’t go any cheaper with the Retro Collection, they proved us wrong and did. How bad is it that they repack the Ahsoka Tano from Retro Collection’s earlier The Mandalorian wave, add a new soft-goods cloak, and then call it a day? Well, that’s what precisely happened here. It’s challenging to consider this Ahsoka Tano a new action figure in the lineup when all it gets is a “new hat.” Collectors of The Vintage Collection get to look forward to the same things because they’re re-releasing the super-articulated version of this action figure in different packaging. Ahsoka Tano doesn’t have a fantastic likeness, but Hasbro tried to recreate a fair resemblance to the on-screen character. They did a decent job with the paint operations, and we don’t see any indication of overspray or sloppy paint operations. Yes, you’ll find a simple paint job on this figure, but you shouldn’t expect anything else in this line. Ahsoka Tano comes with the standard five points of articulation. The head has excellent movement despite having head tails. Ahsoka Tano comes with a white lightsaber and a white shoto, and new for this release is a soft-goods cloak. You can see minor paint operation differences, but we don’t believe they are intentional. Overall, Ahsoka Tano looks best on the card. Hasbro designed another gorgeous card for this figure that captures the mystery and the energy of Asoka Tano from the new Star Wars: Ahsoka series. When we get the version from The Vintage Collection, we’ll have plenty of duplication and overlap of this character in the various Star Wars lines. We don’t anticipate too many people will be content with this release, but then again, many of us have zero tolerance for 5POA action figures.
