Once regarded as one of the most fearsome and capable bounty hunters in the galaxy, Boba Fett seemingly met his demise in the Sarlacc pit on Tatooine. A survivor to his core, Fett lived to fight another day.
It’s another repaint! And it’s another expensive exclusive brought to us by Walmart! We’re receiving more Boba Fett action figures now than ever before, and there seems to be no end in sight. The latest Disney Star Wars series focus heavily on Mandalorians, and it is prime time to focus the toy line on them. Unfortunately, it means that collectors will get a lot of repacks and repaints every time a character changes slightly in these series. Boba Fett (Tython) (Jedi Ruins), from The Mandalorian, is a repaint of 2022’s TBS [P4] Boba Fett (Throne Room) (TBOBF02) figure but also includes the belt from 2022’s TBS [P4] Boba Fett (Tython) (TM16) figure. Hasbro repainted the figure noticeably different from the first release, but that weird gray makeup on the figure’s face came back with a vengeance. It’s an odd look for the bounty hunter, and we’re not sure why they added this detail here. That said, the figure is excellent. Hasbro beautifully captured the aged appearance of actor Temura Morrison, although we don’t think that the character of Boba Fett would believably be that old after escaping the Sarlacc pit. Does that fall under suspension of disbelief? The figure has lower robes, but they’re flexible, and we didn’t encounter any issue with posing the figure in various ways, including kneeling and “running.” The figure comes with an impressive 30 points of articulation, so you can expect ease with posing. Hasbro decided to package this version of Boba Fett as a Deluxe figure too, and although admirably accessorized, the figure doesn’t meet Deluxe standards in our assessment. Once again, Hasbro ensured they spread them out in the extra-large box to make you think you’re getting more than what’s included. It’s pure deception. Hasn’t Hasbro paid off this tooling yet? Hasbro set the MSRP at $31.99, and this is much too expensive for what this is. There is too much repetition in The Black Series 6-inch figure line. And it’s boring. Collectors are disengaging, and collecting isn’t fun anymore. What a disaster Star Wars has become.
