Many modern collectors aren’t concerned with what Disney Star Wars offers, but many from this subset are still interested in collecting the figures. The Special 3 Action Figures [Ben Kenobi (Tibidon Station)/Purge Trooper (Phase II Armor)/Teeka] three-pack has plusses and minuses to it. So, let’s go over each figure carefully and in detail to see if the set is worth your time and money. But before we begin, you should know that there is very little newness in this set, and that’s another factor that affects collectors to decide whether or not they will purchase Hasbro Star Wars. This set has an MSRP of $50.99, which breaks down to $17.00. Yes, that’s a ridiculous price for three “repainted” action figures. High prices are killing the line, and with more and more collectors bowing out before going bankrupt, the joy, excitement, passion, and enjoyment of Star Wars collecting is hanging on by a thread. The Special 3 Action Figures [Ben Kenobi (Tibidon Station)/Purge Trooper (Phase II Armor)/Teeka] set does contain three interesting characters. All three characters in The Black Series 6-inch line were exclusives too, and they all will make lovely additions to your collection. So, let’s take a closer look at the contents of this set.

Ben Kenobi (Tibidon Station) (VC257) is a repaint of 2022’s TVC Obi-Wan Kenobi (Wandering Jedi) (VC245) figure. This time, Hasbro painted the figure’s shirt sky blue and added an all-new soft-goods cloak to match the on-screen character’s outfit as closely as possible. The figure also comes with a new backpack accessory, which fits it well. The paint operations look pretty good on this release. And the gravy here is that Hasbro placed the figure on an unpunched and sturdy card. It’s collector-friendly, and that’s always fantastic news. The Purge Trooper (Phase II Armor) (VC258) has the most newness. Like its 6-inch counterpart, the figure comes with an all-new head sculpt. But The Vintage Collection version also comes with a revised torso which accompanies a removable backpack. And they also adjusted the belt to be screen-accurate as much as possible. The paint operations on the Purge Trooper (Phase II Armor) figure are vibrant, and the sleek black armor looks like the paint job on a brand-new sports car. In short, Hasbro made this figure look excellent. Most of the Purge Trooper (Phase II Armor) figure is based on The Vintage Collection’s Clone Trooper (VC45) tooling, so if you’re not crazy about that buck, you’ll take issue with this figure too. But we’re pretty happy with how it turned out, and it helps build up the character base of the Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi Disney+ series.

The least interesting figure in this multipack is Teeka (VC259). What’s sad is that it’s a Jawa that looks most like the vintage Kenner version to date from Hasbro, and to see it placed on an Obi-Wan Kenobi card with the name “Teeka” feels a lot like salt in the wound. We imagine you’ll feel similarly about this. The figure comes with an all-new removable soft-goods cloak. Hasbro also added a molded vest for an extra layer of outerwear. Teeka also comes with an ionization blaster and removable bandolier. For accessories, the Jawa comes with a case and a tool. Remember that you’re paying $17.00 for Teeka too, so at least Hasbro gave the figure more accessories than the other two figures in this set. The packaging here is colorful but standard, so you should know what to expect. And it’s “exclusive” to the Fan Channel, so you should have little to no problems securing this on the web should you have enough interest to purchase it. We still strongly feel Hasbro is pumping too much money into Disney Star Wars characters. So many Original Trilogy characters are desperate for inclusion in The Vintage Collection. We’re perplexed with the focus given to a series that seemingly didn’t go over well with the fanbase. But this is where we’re at with the Star Wars IP. Instead of organically enjoying some of the most extraordinary filmmaking (stuff from the George Lucas era), we’re told what we should love, and if we don’t, something is wrong with us.
