Mandalorian, The/Blurrg/Remnant Stormtrooper - Mission Fleet

When you see a release in a non-collector line like The Mandalorian/Blurrg/Remnant Stormtrooper Mission Fleet set, you have to wonder what’s going on inside the offices in Rhode Island sometimes. Both of Hasbro’s Star Wars collector lines have been suffering as of late, but one line, The Vintage Collection, is significantly behind the eight ball. Hasbro explained in the past that the Mission Fleet line has no impact on the budget of lines like The Vintage Collection and The Black Series. But when we see characters and beasts released in one line, but not the other, it makes collectors’ blood boil. In the past, kids’ lines would reap the benefits of a successful collector’s line. In other words, you didn’t see characters or vehicles in the kids’ line until there was a counterpart in the collectors’ lines. Yes, you’ll find an exception or two in Hasbro’s long, rich history of Star Wars toymaking, but it was not the norm. So, here we are. Star Wars could swing back from the tornado-flattening devastation the Sequel Trilogy left on the Star Wars community. It left permanent scars on Star Wars collecting as a whole; the newfound success of The Mandalorian has lit a new spark of hope that maybe we can get somewhat back to the way things used to be with the brand. The Disney+ series is an undeniable success, and all of the characters are popular as action figures, as evidenced by their sales. So what does Hasbro do? They make characters like the Blurgg a Walmart exclusive in a kid-focused Mission Fleet set that is too small for any scale of collector Star Wars figures. With a bit of tweaking, they can use the digital files of this toy and make a decent 3.75-inch version that collectors would adore. Or does Hasbro want $49.99 for it? Is that the problem? The Mandalorian/Blurrg/Remnant Stormtrooper three-pack is a decent compilation of famous characters from The Mandalorian series, and although most are repaints, the Blurgg is its highlight. It comes with removable cannon that attaches to either side of the beast’s saddle. And then you get a silver projectile to fire from it to take on the Remnant Stormtrooper. The Mandalorian is a repaint of the figure released in 2020, but there isn’t much new here. Exclusive to Walmart now, the Blurrg is coming in a future assortment with Kuiil. These sets are fine, but please, Hasbro, show some love to the 3.75-inch and 6-inch collectors first.
