Well, that was a big surprise. Out of nowhere, Amazon placed two never-before-revealed characters from the Galaxy Of Adventures line from Hasbro up for pre-order as a two-pack. Although they came packaged inside of the same box, the two figures are packaged individually. The Mandalorian and Imperial Stormtrooper, likely two action figures that will close out the Galaxy Of Adventures 5-inch line are two excellent choices to complete the line. The Mandalorian is the star of the two new figures part of this set. Based on the Beskar armor seen in The Mandalorian Disney+ series, the action figures incorporate all of the detail in animated form, making the character so appealing and exciting. Complete with shiny armor and dark leather components throughout, The Mandalorian is another excellent addition to the Galaxy Of Adventures line. Hopefully, it will meet demand by Hasbro producing enough units. You know how “last wave syndrome” works. Everyone thought that the Ahsoka Tano and Boba Fett wave was the last, but this one came out of nowhere.
The efforts Hasbro put into the line are nothing short of extraordinary. From the buttery smooth and correctly functioning articulation system to the flawless paint operations, the Galaxy Of Adventures line proves Hasbro is capable of making high-quality action figures. But with any new line of action figures, if you don’t keep it rolling for a couple of years, but now this figure feels like it’s the proper goodbye to the line. The Mandalorian is another perfect example of a figure that should have launched the Galaxy Of Adventures line. But ironically, it’s one of the last. How does this happen? How could Hasbro not work more of The Mandalorian characters into this lineup? Sadly, The Mandalorian has no other characters to engage. We suppose you could use the Imperial STormtroopers, but that might be a stretch since it doesn’t look like a Remnant Stormtrooper. Based on the character’s appearance from the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian is a testament that Hasbro still produces little plastic works of art. This release is an excellent action figure loaded with detail and articulation, and yes, sadly, an action feature.
If released earlier in the line, a figure like The Mandalorian would have prompted a heavier concentration of sales and therefore boost the line to a successful plateau. Yes, a new scale of action figures is a terrible idea, and we’re the last people to champion something like that. But the 5” Galaxy Of Adventures line is stunningly excellent. If Hasbro decided to nix the action features, it would have been flawless. You don’t see paint operations this perfect on action figures, and the Galaxy Of Adventures line shows how much detail Hasbro can work into their action figures. The Mandalorian has excellent articulation. But this detail is consistent for all of the Galaxy Of Adventures action figures. All of them have standard articulation, too, so don’t expect anything new implemented here. While we’re happy to see “rocker” ankles integrated into these figures, it frustrates us that Hasbro doesn’t consistently implement this type of articulation into all of the new The Vintage Collection action figures. We’ll continue to enjoy this line, but we hope others, even those who won’t purchase the line, will admit how gorgeous these figures are. We’re thrilled to see Din Djarin get a place in the Galaxy Of Adventures line. Based on how Hasbro named it, it’s probably a good bet they planned this figure earlier than believed. Either way, ensure you add it to your Star Wars collection. It’s worthy of your consideration.
