All different types of droids populate the galaxy. Each droid is different and has their own unique personality and colors. These droids are often found outside the Droid Depot on Batuu! May the Force be with you... and your droids!

Disney put together a rather impressive multipack featuring five of the droids featured at the Galaxy’s Edge theme park. Many are reminiscent of characters we see throughout the Star Wars saga, but Disney gave them Galaxy’s Edge-specific names for this release. All five figures are Build A Droids. Two are entirely all-new sculpts, and then Disney based the remaining three on sculpts previously released somewhere within the Droid Factory and Droid Depot lines. The Droid Depot Droids set is one of the most colorful collections of action figures we’ve ever seen. And the various sizes and shapes included in this five-figure multipack speak to the diversity of this range of Star Wars characters. While we may not get to know their backstories as we do for names like R2-D2 and C-3PO, the priceless benefit they add to any Star Wars collection by providing background characters in displays is not something one quickly dismisses. If you love the variety and love color, this is an ideal multipack for you. Let’s take a closer look at the droids contained within this set.

R1-J1 is a direct rip-off of A New Hope’s R1-G4. Hasbro produced a stunning version of this droid and released it as 2004’s SW [P3] R1-G4 (Tatooine Transaction) (’04 #06) figure. The 2004 figure is a work of art. But Disney made the same mistake Hasbro did. The R1 unit doesn't have an antenna. It's a cable lowering it to the ground from the Sandcrawler. The Droid Depot looks excellent, but it’s not nearly as details as the Hasbro figure. We’re not if they’re 100% identical to each other either, so the differences we see may be intentional. R1-J1 is the first R1 Unit Build A Droid figure. It breaks down into three parts, and the connecting points function as swivel articulation for the action figure. Disney implemented a ton of half-toning deco to give R10J1 its sandy and dusty appearance. The other all-new figure in this set is the chunky B-R72. It’s a massive droid, and at first glance, we thought it was a character from Solo: A Star Wars Story. B-R72 is quite colorful. The body of the figure is yellow, and Disney painted bright red onto its feet. Other colors accent the various details on this figure. B-R72 is also a Build A Droid figure and breaks down into the head, body, left arm, right arm, and a foot section (that’s one piece).

L4-R6 is a Build A Droid R4 Unit colored in blue and white. And C2-B9 is an R5 Unit colored in orange and white. Both of the astromech droids in this set utilize the Droid Factory tooling dating back to 2015. They featured bodies that no longer have the second set of holes for a point of reference. The paint operations are gorgeous on both of these droids. Disney also implemented quite a bit of half-toning on these figures to give them a realistic lived-in appearance as if they’ve been traveling throughout Batuu for a long time. Disney also painted highly-detailed elements on the droids, like a warning strip on C2-B9 and silver light ports on L4-R6. The remaining figure, EG-01, a GNK droid, is another excellent choice in this set. Disney decided to forsake the pack-in figure from their Droid Factory Sandcrawler Playset, and decided to tool an all-new figure. They then added superb deco to give it a unique appearance. The Droid Depot Droid set is set with an MSRP of $49.99 and is exclusively available at Disney Parks. We hope they produce more like this.
