Ahsoka Tano - TBS [P4] - Six Inch Figures (TCW02)

Ahsoka Tano, a Togruta female, was the Padawan learner to Anakin Skywalker and a hero of the Clone Wars. Alongside Anakin, she grew from headstrong student into a mature leader.

Ahsoka Tano is getting a fair amount of love from Hasbro in The Black Series [Phase IV]. They released The Black Series [Phase III[ version of the Star Wars Rebels iteration of the Togruta Jedi Knight as a Fan Channel exclusive. The Clone Wars’ beloved character is a Walmart exclusive, and the figure is based on Ahsoka's appearance from the final seventh season of The Clone Wars series. Although Hasbro based the “new” Ahsoka Tano on many parts of the existing and “old” Ahsoka Tano’s tooling, there is a great deal of newness here as well. For the life of us, we cannot understand how Hasbro could relegate this new version of Ahsoka Tano, based on the character’s appearance from The Clone Wars no less, as a retailer exclusive. In this case, Ahsoka Tano is a Walmart exclusive. Although pre-orders went up for this figure and three others during the peak of summer 2020, a display kicker began arriving at select Walmart stores loaded with these figures at the end of October without warning. The easiest way to describe this figure is that the new The Clone Wars Ahsoka Tano is brilliantly produced. It will rank as one of the best from The Black Series 6” line for 2020. Hasbro will also rue the day they decided to make this figure a Walmart exclusive as well. Unless they have secret plans to make this version of Ahsoka Tano more widely available, this character won’t meet demand as a retailer exclusive.

The Photo Real approach to the latest TBS6 figures is incredible. They make Ahsoka Tano look gorgeous. Hasbro’s figures haven’t looked better. With overtly feminine characteristics, the figure is a testament to Hasbro’s beauty in this scale. It’s terrific seeing this Togruta in a different light. With a long history in The Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano completes various missions in The Clone Wars final seventh season. She wears a different outfit with differently colored lightsabers. Hasbro captured all of the details wonderfully here. And it’s important to note she is no longer a Padawan. We believe we have the consummate version of the character in the 6” line based on the character’s appearance in The Clone Wars. How does The Black Series [Phase IV] Ahsoka Tano 6” figure from The Clone Wars fare compared to the original release? Well, it’s remarkably better. Fans of Ahsoka Tano remember her best from The Clone Wars series, and not Star Wars Rebels. Hasbro developed a stunning portrait that captures every nuance of the character from the original series in which she appeared. The wide eyes and the wary expression is forever ensconced in this action figure. Ahsoka Tano has always had full and rounded beautiful eyes. And thanks to the new portrait and critically applied Photo Real deco, we get a realistic approach that is believable and lifelike.

Hasbro proves how far the updated paint operations take their action figures today and prove that their technology is continually evolving for the better. The paint operations at the factory level are going so much further now, and the rest of the figure is nearly breathtaking. The sculpt is perfection. You can see how much Ahsoka Tano changed from the beginning of The Clone Wars film to the series’s final seventh season. Now looking a little older, the “grown up” head tails increased in girth and length. The montrals increased in size and girth as well. They are light gray and purple now and match what we see on the on-screen character. For the most part, Ahsoka Tano looks excellent and only has imperfections in the paint operations, as you can see some bleeding and missed spots. The white facial geometric pigments on the figure’s face are also expertly applied, and everything else is in place here. You’re going to be very happy. Hasbro designed Ahsoka Tano’s outfit beautifully too. The articulation is spot on as well. Included with Ahsoka Tano is a blue-bladed lightsaber as well as a blue-bladed shoto. These accessories have been standard weapons for the character for a while now, and they befit the action figure perfectly. Again, we have VERY LITTLE to complain about here. This figure is going to be a hot action figure for years to come. Aside from the $5 price hike, we thoroughly recommend this figure.
