his distinctive collection features premium deco applications inspired by the end credit images from The Mandalorian, plus a collectible Imperial Credit accessory. After the fall of the Galactic Empire, usage of their form of money, Imperial Credits, became less common with many planets refusing payments in the currency on principle.
The Mandalorian Disney+ series exceeded expectations across the board. And Hasbro is stammering to come up with products and merchandise to support its popularity. Take, for instance, the “Credit Collection,” which includes colorfully repainted action figures of The Mandalorian’s most popular characters. All exclusive to retailers, the Heavy Infantry Mandalorian “Credit Collection” figure is only for Best Buy, just like the original version of the action figure was. Based on the artwork seen within the closing credits of Disney +’s The Mandalorian episodes. Placed on vintage Kenner-inspired packaging with a faux metallicized card back, Hasbro designed this collectible line exclusively for collectors. These repainted action figures aren’t for everyone, but they are beautifully painted, and they seem to be growing an interested facet of collectors supporting the line. Included with each “Credit Collection” figure is a realistic Imperial credit accessory. The Heavy Infantry Mandalorian comes with a silver version of it. The figure retails for $34.99, which is $5 more than the original version.
Hasbro may have decided to use a generic descriptor for the Heavy Infantry Mandalorian featured in the third episode of The Mandalorian series, but fans of the show now know the character is called Paz Vizla. Vizla is a common name in Mandalorian circles, and it makes sense that it has made its way into a show about this species of warriors. Collectors have referred to characters as a portly Mandalorian. The character is thicker than the standard Mandalorians we’ve seen represented in the Star Wars universe thus far, but we don’t find it abnormally large or out of place with the rest. Hasbro designed an all-new figure called the Heavy Infantry Mandalorian, repainted it colorfully, and offered it once again to Best Buy as their exclusive. We still want to reiterate that if Hasbro could set Baze Malbus (37) for standard retail price, the same should be true with this figure. The figure articulates beautifully and comes with accessories that fit into the sculpted hands beautifully. Collectors will love this figure. We’re confident of this.
Brian Matyas designed Paz Vizla’s character, and he worked many existing and new features into the character’s armor. He included heavy Mandalorian armor made of beskar with blue color and a mythosaur skull emblem on his left shoulder armor. He also wore a jetpack and carried both a heavy blaster cannon. The Heavy Infantry Mandalorian has additional gear in the television series, but Hasbro opted to exclude them a second time for this Best Buy exclusive release. Where is the vibroblade? Where is the cape? Doesn’t the extra $15 cover anything.... extra here besides the Imperial credit? Despite all of this, the Heavy Infantry Mandalorian is a nice-looking, well-designed action figure that should impress collectors of the 6” line and, more importantly, fans of the television series who appreciate artistic interpretations of Star Wars characters. Produced with the other action figures’ standard articulation in the line, the Heavy Infantry Mandalorian can achieve some incredibly flexible poses despite its chunkier frame. The paint operations are the draw here. And the packaging. But this sub-line isn’t for everyone.
