R2-D2 reassembles a flustered C-3PO on the Millennium Falcon.

Hasbro has made the most of existing tooling in the Collector Series and Action Collection line. And when it comes to the small-scaled Action Collection figures, you can see that they used existing tooling often. After a general release R2-D2 figure, Hasbro created two other Action Collection figures utilizing R2-D2 tooling for both R5-D4 and R2-D2 [Detachable Utility Arms] which are both Walmart exclusives. R2-D2, with the detachable utility arms, is a nice upgrade to the original release. Kenner/Hasbro tooled an all-new body and incorporated four opening door panels, each with a hole inside so you can connect one of the four arm attachments to each panel. You can choose to attach one, two, three, or all four. The choice is yours. Included are the following: computer interface arm, grasping arm, power charge arm, circular saw arm. The utility arm attachments are from across the Original Trilogy. And they stay in place very well. Kenner/Hasbro included all of the other features that came with the original release. R2-D2’s domes swivel, you get a little bit of movement with the droid’s legs. R2-D2 has a slide-out third leg. Each foot has hinge-jointed articulation. And each foot comes with two rolling wheels. R2-D2 is a surprise, but welcomed addition to the Action Collection lineup. It feels like the Action Collection figures get better and better with each successive release. But if they can find a way to add more features like this to characters released in the general marketplace line, collectors will be a happy bunch.
