The Galaxy Of Adventures line is exceeding many collectors’ expectations, not because they’re happy about a new scale. But if you objectively look at the line as a whole, there is no doubt Hasbro is delivering an exceptional product to the Star Wars collecting community. Admittedly, the Galaxy Of Adventures line is headed for an uphill battle. With so many conflicting lines stealing the attention away from a new 5” line of action figures, collectors have already placed this line on the backburner as they scurry to complete their The Vintage Collection and The Black Series [Phase III] 6” lines and enjoy them first. We’ve found the Galaxy Of Adventures line to be exceedingly pleasant, and it contains some of the most excellent tooling and articulation the Star Wars brand has seen in a long time (aside from the premium lines, of course). Specifically, although produced in an animated style, figures like the Jet Trooper show us that Hasbro can do some amazingly incredible things with the Star Wars brand, even if a new animated scale is not your “thing.” The Jet Trooper is one of the new characters introduced in The Rise Of Skywalker film. Episode IX closes up the Luke Skywalker saga for fans, but while it does, it also introduces new troopers into the fold as well. We hope that the Jet Trooper isn’t underutilized in Episode IX. Disney Star Wars needs to show us that these awesome-looking new characters are relevant in the films.

We’re quite fond of the Galaxy Of Adventures line, save for one thing about it. We loathe the action features they added into them. And the Jet Trooper feels this pain more than the others in the line. Hasbro implemented an action feature into both of the shoulders of the Jet Trooper. It’s a terrible annoyance, and it affects the aesthetics of the figure. We’re not sure why Hasbro thinks action features are necessary for an action figure line anymore. Very few kids are interested in or want Star Wars action figures. And if they do, they’re into high-quality action figures that they can move and articulate themselves. We understand the raw for a larger scale, but imagine if Hasbro kept the Galaxy of Adventures line at 3.75” scale, held the same level of articulation, and priced them at $9.99 each. Would the Star Wars collecting world be a happier place? Why compete with two other popular scales that sandwich the scale of this line? What does Hasbro think they know what we do not? Regardless of the Jet Trooper’s setback (the action feature), we’re quite fond of the Jet Trooper. He comes with a “Quick Draw Blaster” action feature, which is annoying as it is stupid. The action feature interferes when you try to pose the character the way YOU want him to be posed, and we find that a terrible distraction to the enjoyment of this figure. Thankfully, the Jet Trooper isn’t without merit in spite of its action feature. It still has a great deal to offer.

The Jet Trooper only comes with one accessory, but it’s a neat one. He comes with a triple-barreled First Order blaster. He holds the gun in his right hand flawlessly. It stays in place regardless of how you pose him, and it’s a tight fit for when you decide to bang him up during playtime. More importantly, and we’re quite proud of Hasbro for ensuring this to be possible, they added enough articulation to allow the Jet Trooper to hold the blaster with both hands. The Jet Trooper looks stunning and realistic and lifelike (even though he’s an animated character) posed like this. It’s evident the Jet Trooper brings a lot to the Galaxy of Adventures line. He doesn’t come with any removable parts, like armor pieces, but he succeeds as an action figure, and for that we’re grateful. Hasbro cast the Jet Trooper in bright white plastic. We have noticed that the torso area is a twinge yellowed by comparison. We’re at a loss on why this happens to brand new action figures, but we wish Hasbro would look into it and correct it. Despite the disappointment of discoloring plastic, Hasbro did a wonderful job on the figure’s paint job. The line on the helmet are extra clean and create a personality in the helmet that isn’t present on the 6” figure. As you may or may not know, we feel the helmet design of the Jet Trooper is the weakest feature/characteristic of the character, but that doesn’t prevent us from enjoying this toy incarnation of it!
