Raised on the planet of Tatooine by his aunt and uncle, Luke Skywalker lived the simple life of an innocent farm boy, unaware of the incredible destiny he would eventually fulfill.

Luke dreamed of leaving Tatooine to join the Rebel Alliance in their fight against the Galactic Empire, but his chores as a moisture farmer kept him at home. The young Skywalker spent the majority of his free time flying skyhoppers and landspeeders, learning the skills that would eventually evolve into those of an expert pilot. He also practiced target shooting by blasting desert womp rats, and with his friends, dreamed of adventures that seemed light years away

HIs humble beginnings changed almost overnight after his uncle purchased two droids from the Jawa, unaware that one of the droid's memory banks had been secretly programmed with a holographic message from a mysterious princess. With this, Luke's quest to fly for the Rebel Alliance would become a reality. The young farm boy would grow up fast as he began his training with Obi-Wan Kenobi in the ways of the Force.

Authentically styled straight from the movie, Luke Skywalker is fully poseable and comes outfitted in the modest shirt, pants, boots, and utility belt he wore on Tatooine. Included is the lightsaber Obi-Wan Kenobi gave him, which had once belonged to Luke's father. The electrobinoculars he used to scan the wastelands are also included, as is a powerful blaster. This special edition 12" figure, available for the first time ever, is destined to become a classic collectible!

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

When Kenner/Hasbro revealed that the 12 Inch Figures line would return for the modern The Power Of The Force “2” era, many collectors became elated of the prospects. Kenner/Hasbro could produce characters never before entered into the line, but it was clear from the start that they would focus on previously released characters first to show how far the technology had come to produce the larger-scaled figures. One figure from the first wave of Collector Series figures was Luke Skywalker based on A New Hope. Based on a previous GI Joe buck, Hasbro added a new head sculpt with a decent likeness to Mark Hamill, a new soft-goods shirt and pants, boots and a belt. His accessories include a lit lightsaber (black hilt with blue blade), macrobinoculars and an E-11 blaster, the one he used on the Death Star. The buck doesn’t come with a wealth of articulation, but enough is here to give the figure an admirable amount of display possibilities. Luke Skywalker experienced a running change as well. First released with platinum blond hair, Kenner/Hasbro updated the hair and eyebrow color to a more accurate dirty blond, although the figure looks to have a hair color that’s more golden than anything else. Retailing for $19.99, Luke Skywalker is only one figure in a line with grand plans to produce many more. We will see some fantastic characters added to this line, and the character selection will become more and more interesting in time. Not perfect, Luke Skywalker is a fair addition to a burgeoning line. For us, the best part of the Collector Series line is the packaging. The front cover shows a still from promotional images for the films, and the inside cover features another photo with a lengthy bio. The figure is displayed in a window box.
