Though he was as skilled a pilot as any in the Jedi Order, Kit Fisto preferred engaging in planetside combat, and took command of Republic forces in many unorthodox campaigns. As a result of his preferences and skills, Fisto did fewer performance enhancing modifications to his Delta-7 Jedi starfighter than many other Jedi. Instead, he strengthened its airframe, struts and landing gear to help it withstand high-speed reentry and rough landings, reasoning that the faster he could get on the ground, the sooner he'd be able to get into the fight.

One of the greatest benefits collectors reap from Hasbro tooling a single mold that exists across the saga is that we’re likely going to get other Jedi starfighters too. This is what happens when vehicles share the same tooling or mostly based on an existing mold. After the release of 2002’s Star Wars [Saga - Phase I] Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter vehicle, Hasbro now had a template in their inventory to which they could base additional Jedi starfighter vehicles. And Hasbro did take advantage of this more than once in a short amount of time. From the Clone Wars line to the Revenge Of The Sith line to now The Saga Collection line, Hasbro graciously provided collectors with four unique Jedi starfighters based on one mold. And they span across multiple chapters of the Star Wars saga. This latest version, Kit Fisto's Jedi Starfighter, gets its inspiration from Tartakovsky’s Clone Wars micro-series. So fans of the Cartoon Network show are going to be very happy with this vehicle’s release. But the major setback here is that we don’t have an adequate Kit Fisto action figure that fits inside of the cockpit. The question is if we’re happy with having a vehicle that doesn’t accommodate its pilot. What a dilemma!

It's become hackneyed at this point, but for one reason or another, possessions of the Jedi in the Clone Wars match the color of their lightsabers or their skin color or both. In the case of Kit Fisto, it’s both. The green-skinned and shirtless Nautolan that we see take on the Quarrens in the Battle of Mon Calamari, matches perfectly to his Jedi Starfighter. And his orange-domes astromech droid also matches the orange-colored highlights throughout the vehicle as well. If you know what makes up the 2002 release of this vehicle, then you know what to expect here too. Kit Fisto's Jedi Starfighter is a fantastic vehicle because Hasbro has developed a wonderful product here that is as simple as it is clever. Between the removable wings and articulated stabilizers to the functioning landing gear and cockpit canopy, there is a bunch of stuff to appreciate here and it will stand the test of time. Don’t forget that there are articulated pieces inside of the cockpit area too. And Hasbro once again provided a colorful and detailed decal sheet to help breathe more realism into the vehicle. Once assembled, or transformed, Kit Fisto's Jedi Starfighter brings an incredible realism and realistic accuracy from the Clone Wars cartoon into your collection.

Kit Fisto's Jedi Starfighter comes with a beautiful base paint job too. Sure, the decals help to bring detail that a paint job cannot, but if you decided to leave the labels off of the vehicle, you’re left with a stunning Star Wars vehicle toy. You’ll find yellow, cream, multiple greens, multiple yellows and white mixed with “dirt” sprayed in certain areas of the vehicle to make it look like this vehicle is used often by Kit Fisto in many battles. Hasbro gave the underside of the vehicle as much attention as the dorsal side, so they didn’t hold back on the quality of this vehicle and ensured it looks as good as it does. With all items in The Saga Collection collector-friendly line, Kit Fisto's Jedi Starfighter is labeled as sourced in the Clone Wars and it’s been given a unique tan color-coded labeling. On the back of the box, there is a small still from the episode we see his Jedi Starfighter vehicle zoom past the camera too. And in a surprising turn of events which is very rare for Hasbro, there is a typo on the front of the box calling this item “Kit Fisto's Jedi Starfigher.” But the rest of the sides of the box have the misspelled word corrected. Overall, we’re quite pleased with this TARGET exclusive release. If we can get a couple of obscure vehicles added to the line because the sculpts exist, then why not?
