An accomplished Alliance Intelligence officer with combat field experience, Captain Cassian Andor commands respect with his ability to complete his missions with minimal resources.

Eadu? Jedha? Take your pick? Hasbro has always been good at finding every last iteration of an outfit style to replicate it into toy form and most can be found in the basic figure line. In the modern era in which we collect, it seems Hasbro has a penchant for producing different versions of costumes across different scales. When it came to the Captain Cassian Andor (Jedha) 12-Inch Figure however, Hasbro opted for a “hood down” version which was specific to his time on Jedha, and not Eadu (or something like that). Because his outfit didn’t change all that much in the film, Hasbro was sure to pay close attention to every little nuance to add some diversity into the lineup. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story has extremely close ties to the Original Trilogy, so collectors seem to be paying extra close attention to the figures Hasbro makes for the Rogue One line. When it comes to any likeness of a Star Wars action figure, human likenesses can be hit or miss. Usually it’s the poor paint operations on top of a divine sculpt that actually ruins the figure. But on the larger scaled 12-Inch Figure line, more details can be applied. As a result, we think that Captain Cassian Andor (Jedha) looks pretty good.

With the Rogue One line Hasbro has been taking visible strides to make these figures look better than ever and it seems to be working better in this one-sixth scale format. Captain Cassian Andor (Jedha) comes with the “standard” five points of articulation that most other figures in this format have. Sadly, he doesn’t come with any wrist articulation. Regardless, five or seven points of swivel articulation does not give any figure (any scale) a wide range of movement. It looks like Captain Cassian Andor (Jedha) (as a character) should be able to move “a lot” more than he actually does, but when you’re working with flat plane articulation, the movement is nearly devastating. That being said, Captain Cassian Andor (Jedha) isn’t without merit. There are definitely some nice approaches taken with the figure, but then there are others leave us perplexed. For example, his parka hood is made from a different and more rubbery material than the rest of the figure. It is also amazingly detailed. His belt line is loaded with “accessories” that obviously can’t be removed. And generally speaking, the paint operations here are quite nice (for a budget figure). This figure could have looked a great deal worse. We’ll leave it at that.

The paint operations on his face are better than average. The do not look rushed or sloppy for that matter. Still, you’ll have to decide this for yourself. For a kid-focused 12-Inch Figure, we feel that Captain Cassian Andor (Jedha) looks about as good as he can for a $10 figure. Captain Cassian Andor (Jedha) comes with one single accessory: a blaster pistol. The nice detail here is that Hasbro gave him a functioning holster which is where you can place it when not in use. He can hold the pistol with both hands, but it fits better in his right hand. It would have been awesome to get a cap, or goggles or another blaster rifle here, but Hasbro keeps this line very lightly accessorized. In our opinion, Hasbro did a nice job on this 12-Inch Figure. Captain Cassian Andor (Jedha) should meet your expectations for this format. Aside from arranging very poor case assortments, Hasbro seems to be doing good things with this line. Aside from this, we really have very little to complain about with this format of collectibles. They’re not meant for collectors, so collectors need to keep this in check. You could do a lot worse with your $10, but we also understand if this just isn’t your bag at all.
