All different types of Astromech droids populate the Star Wars galaxy. Each droid is different and has their own unique personality and colors. This cranky old C1-10P Astromech is a loyal friend and member of the Ghost Crew and is often squabbling around the Phantom.
May the Force be with you... and your Droids!
In our estimation, he has a following similar to Jar Jar Binks. You either love or hate C1-10P "CHOPPER" from the popular Star Wars: Rebels television show. Admittedly, this kit-bashed astromech droid does bring a healthy dose of humor to Star Wars: Rebels, but viewers of the show have been on the fence lately contemplating if the development of the character is going anywhere of value, other than the few slapstick moments we see on the small screen. Visually, C1-10P "CHOPPER" is a character that is striking. He is a colorful as he is muted. He is functional as he is a technological mess. And he rivals R2-D2 with the most utility tools and functionalities that make him a worthy member of the Ghost Crew. When the Rebels toy line made its debut in 2014, Hasbro released C1-10P (“Chopper”) (SL06) in the Saga Legends basic figure line. Immediately, fans of the show began complaining because the figure only came with three points of articulation, no third leg and no interchangeable parts to recreate his many unique looks in the television show. Still, from a visual perspective, the figure looked good and became one of the most highly sought after figures of all time.
The demand was so great that Hasbro repackaged this droid in 2015’s TFA Garazeb Orrelios/C1-10P “Chopper” Two-Packs set. It was the same exact figure and collectors were disturbed that we weren’t going to get an action figure of him with more features. Well, everything is coming up roses because Disney Parks JUST released, as a Star Wars Celebration Orlando exclusive, a definitive version of C1-10P "CHOPPER" that will wow all types of collectors . You’re going to want multiples of this figure even if you dislike him because it’s frankly one of the greatest creations Disney Parks has ever made. C1-10P "CHOPPER" is part of the Droid Factory lineup and it far exceeds anything they have done in the past. With a stunning fifteen (15) points of articulation and with the ability to disassemble into ten (10) distinct parts (even more if you further break them down) Disney Parks’ C1-10P "CHOPPER" figure is probably one of the greatest astromech droid action figures the collecting community has ever seen. You don’t have to like the character to appreciate this figure. From the design to the paint operations, C1-10P "CHOPPER" will undoubtedly go down in history as one of Disney Parks’ finest moments. We’re sure of this.
C1-10P "CHOPPER" comes packaged with his mismatched parts all assembled. His left leg doesn’t match his right leg and his cobbled together third leg is really just the wheel from some sort of Star Wars universe grocery store’s shopping cart. He simply looks amazing. What’s more however, Disney Parks included two extra accessories to give C1-10P "CHOPPER" the full range of appearances we see him in the Star Wars: Rebels television show. For example, the extra leg is a reference to the Season 2 episode entitled "The Forgotten Droid” which revolves around Chopper stealing an astromech leg. And then he comes with an interchangeable booster rocket which can be attached in place of his shopping cart wheel to imitate the many times he flew around throughout the series. From his articulated arms attached to his dome to the swing-out utility arm on his body. C1-10P "CHOPPER" will be an asset to your Rebels action figure collection by what he brings to it as an action figure. C1-10P "CHOPPER" clearly comes with plenty of features, but his paint job is equally impressive as well. The applications are extremely clean and look fantastic. You could do a whole lot worse with $12.99. This should be a must-have for all Star Wars collectors.
