Star Wars Battlefront is one of the most sought after Star Wars games of 2015, with 12 million copies sold since its release in November – it was even nominated for the Best Shooter game in The Game Awards 2015! Fans were very excited to get the chance to play as a wide variety of Star Wars characters in this visually stunning game! A big Star Wars fan, Hot Toys is thrilled to be creating a series of 1/6th scale collectibles based on this beautiful game!

To kick-start this new Star Wars collectible series, Sideshow and Hot Toys are delighted to officially present the sixth scale collectible figure of a unique Imperial trooper from the game – the Shock Trooper!

The highly-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of the Shock Trooper in Star Wars Battlefront, featuring meticulously crafted armor and helmet, a distinctive red and white color scheme on the armor with weathering effects, detailed weapons and backpack, and a desert-themed figure stand!

Star Wars fans, don’t pass up on the opportunity to add this Shock Trooper to your display! Stay tuned for more Hot Toys collectibles based on Star Wars Battlefront, coming soon!

Simply put, Hot Toys is going to make every other Star Wars licensee look bad. Their attention to detail, quality of their sculpts, and overall impressive approach to their high end collectibles set them worlds apart from the next best licensee. Now, no one should be comparing Hot Toys against Hasbro or LEGO or any other “toy” line, but when you realize what can be done, and for the prices that they command, that Hot Toys is going to lead the parade with all others straggling significantly further behind. The latest offering actually opens up a new category for Star Wars characters. Added to their Video Game Masterpiece Series line, the Shock Trooper (based on its appearance from Star Wars: Battlefront and not Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith) is now part of this coveted line of gorgeous one-sixth scale collectibles and we couldn’t be more impressed. It’s not like the Shock Trooper is at the top of our lists, but once you see what Hot Toys has developed there it’s literally impossible to not be impressed by what appears in front of you. That’s where we stand with beautiful Shock Trooper. Many Star Wars collectors don’t even give Hot Toys a second glance because of the MSRP, but we’d encourage you to reconsider. Dare we say these are worth every penny?

Based on their very popular Stormtrooper sculpt, Hot Toys has utilized most of the sculpt and tweaked it to make it Shock Trooper (from Star Wars: Battlefront) specific. They did a fantastic job at matching all of the colors and details from the video game character. We all know the shortcuts that were taken with Hasbro’s 6” The Black Series [Phase III] Imperial Shock Trooper Walmart exclusive figure. They just utilized existing parts and repainted 2013’s TBS [P1] Stormtrooper (#09) figure. They really didn’t do anything special to make it unique to the video game. Well, Hot Toys refuses to sell themselves short and they made an exact replica of the character. We are thoroughly impressed. What’s more, in addition to all of the new parts, Hot Toys has executed brilliant paint operations that look weathered, yet artistically applied. The red color flashes are eye catching and realistically attributed to the figure. On top of that, Hot Toys added dirt and “battle damage” on top of the red details and the final result is overwhelmingly delightful. Hot Toys truly knows what “high end” means and they take no sacrifices whatsoever to deliver the greatest Star Wars collectibles around.

One thing we absolutely adore about Hot Toys (in addition to their brilliant work) is that they don’t clutter the figures with a whole bunch of unnecessary accessories. We love Sideshow Collectibles line of 1:6 Scale Figures, but in all honesty but if we get another batch of the same '13 hands' with the latest clone trooper we’re going to go nuts. Hot Toys doesn’t keep reinventing the wheel over and over again. They really think out how each and every character is going to be mapped out and visited. And it truly prevents the feeling that you’re caught in a cycle with every one-sixth scale figure they create. (Sometimes it’s the small things that make huge differences. This is certainly the case here.) When you distill everything, sure, the Shock Trooper is nothing out of the ordinary. But because of the visible care taken by the manufacturer, it’s impossible to not be thoroughly impressed with the final product. Again, we had no prior interest in this figure, but now that we have it we’re becoming more and more obsessed with Hot Toys as a Star Wars licensee, and they constantly show us just how much we’re missing with licensees that used to take similar care for smaller scale toys. Yes, it’s night and day, but that divide is getting greater and greater instead of closer and closer.
