The oldest member of the Jedi Council, Yoda is a wise and cautious Jedi Master. When Obi-Wan informs the Council of the Separatists' plans, Yoda assembles the Clone Army to subdue the rebellion. Yoda's unassuming size masks his enormous powers. His skills in the Force are not limited to wisdom and guidance, but are matched by his dexterity and fighting prowess. Nevertheless, his suberb skills are tested when he battles the highly proficient Count Dooku on Geonosis.
Yoda (Battle Of Geonosis) figure from the Star Wars “Saga” Hall Of Fame line is a figure that surprises even us how much we have grown to love it. The fully assembled figure looks great (complete with props), but yet we still have to question what is up with that hovering accessory that plugs into Yoda and raises him up and down. It just is strange to isert a peg into Yoda’s "butt". With all due respect to this adored Jedi Master, Yoda (Battle Of Geonosis) is much better than we’re giving it credit for because you get so much bang for your buck. And the likeness of Yoda (Battle Of Geonosis) is pretty darn nice. This figure "set" possesses some extra play value that should definitely interest old and young fans alike. In all actuality, Yoda’s base structure appears to look like part of a structure in the Geonosis hangar where he confronts Count Dooku and has to rescue Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi from the hands of the Sith Lord. Because of the action feature (he is basically a piece of hollowed out plastic), there isn’t much substance to him. And even though he has upgraded ball-jointed articulation in the shoulders, his lower body is essentially a statue. So moving him around doesn’t provide for an endless array of positioning. You may not care however.
Yoda (Battle Of Geonosis) has a really decent resemblance to a concerned and borderline angry and battling Yoda. The action figure looks a little bit meaner by comparison, but it’s a good expression and fits in with the scene on which he is based. This sequence of film is high energy, so Yoda (Battle Of Geonosis) shouldn't look so reserved and calm. We think Hasbro really nailed his aura quite well. We’ll get to the display base in a moment, but Hasbro added a few other cool accessories to make this action figure interpretation of Yoda (Battle Of Geonosis) a little bit more engaging. He comes with a lightsaber that separates at the hilt which is made of metal so it can be Force attracted to the magnet in Yoda’s hand. Be careful with the peg on the blade however. It is tiny and breakable. Admittedly, a lightsaber like this does add some extra play value. He also comes with a gimer stick so he can wobble into the hangar. You'll have to set this diorama up using your own creativity however since we don't get too many playsets anymore from Hasbro. Yoda twirled and whirled in the air like the Tasmanian Devil to defend his friends against Count Dooku, and the included base sort of allows you to do this in your own personal collection. Yoda (Battle Of Geonosis) is intense Force skills.
It’s ironic that most of the plastic in the Yoda (Battle Of Geonosis) package is the accessories and base. Yoda pales in comparison and is barely worth his weight in plastic. But the display/action base not only adds some extra play value, it also provides a scenic backdrop. In all honesty we’re still unable to pinpoint the exact parts of the Geonosian hangar that inspired Hasbro to create it. But it still works. For even more play value, a piece of this display base “breaks off” and fits into Yoda’s Force lighting effect (which attaches to his arm quite nicely by the way) and you can pretend that he is using it in his failed attempt to defeat the evil Count Dooku. We're sure this Force lightning accessory is meant to be Yoda's deflection of it. Again, you get a ton of plastic for $4.99 here. Even if you’re not into this style of a Yoda action figure, the rest of the stuff inside of the package should be something to consider adding to your collection since we don’t get a ton of playsets anymore. Yoda (Battle Of Geonosis) is a decent display piece, and a fun action figure, but we just don’t know if we can give it great marks as far as a collector’s action figure is concerned. You’ll have to be the judge, but judge him not by his size, just his relevance.
