Star Wars fans worldwide are anxiously waiting for the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the newest entry to the epic space saga! Set 30 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, the upcoming movie will feature brand new characters as well as some familiar faces!

Although the Galactic Empire has fallen after the Battle of Endor, a new organization called the First Order has come to power, and this new military junta employs Stormtroopers to execute its orders.

Sideshow Collectibles and Hot Toys are excited to present the sixth scale collectible figure of the new streamline designed First Order Stormtrooper from Star Wars: The Force Awakens!

The highly-accurate collectible figure is specially crafted based on the image of the First Order Stormtrooper in Star Wars: The Force Awakens and features the brand new designed Stormtrooper armor and helmet, a highly detailed blaster rifle and pistol, and a specially designed hexagonal figure stand with the First Order’s emblem!

It is now the time to create your own army with the new First Order Stormtroopers!

If you’re a one-sixth scale figure collector, then you’re fully aware of the magnificence of the quality high-end collectibles Hot Toys makes. It was an answer to prayer when they made the announcement that they had received special licensing permission to start tackling the great characters from the Star Wars saga. And after a few main characters, collectors couldn’t wait to see what they would be addressing from The Force Awakens. One of the very first characters planned and released from The Force Awakens is the First Order Stormtrooper. In typical Hot Toys fashion, they’ve constructed and unbelievable armor suit and a portrait that just puts to shame all other licenses that have attempted it in their own respective scales. The First Order Stormtrooper’s excellence should come as no surprise to the many that have been with Hot Toys for a while now. But they will be getting a whole new batch of customers thanks to the new Star Wars property that they’re able to dip into now thanks to a shared licensing agreement from Lucasfilm Ltd. Sideshow Collectibles has yet to offer anything from The Force Awakens, but maybe these characters are in better hands with Hot Toys instead. Their unparalleled attention to quality and detail is truly brilliant, and the final figures, while maybe not perfect all of the time, are pretty darn flawless in most people’s eyes.

For all intents and purposes, we feel that the First Order Stormtrooper is perfect. The armor system certainly inhibits the incredible articulation the body buck should provide. But that’s just the nature of the beast. Chunky and clunky armor pieces aren’t going to allow for a full range of movement, even on a human being, so the Hot Toys figure is going to be limited as well. That being said, the armor is stunningly shining white. We don’t think that we have seen a brighter example of white in all of our years of collecting. We hope and pray that it doesn’t become dull or yellowed over time, but that is honestly a rarity with high-end collectibles. Not only is the armor white, the detail impressed into it is nothing short of amazing. From the gauntlet like computer keys to the signature “0 11” pattern on the back of the figure, the First Order Stormtrooper has been made with great precision and accuracy. You would think he jumped right out of the film if you didn’t realize his 12” stature. With great flexibility in his joints and with a nice handful of accessories that aren’t alarming in numbers, the First Order Stormtrooper comes full complemented with the right amount of stuff to make him interesting and diverse when posed in your collection. Armored figures are difficult to do right, but there are no worries like that here at all. Hot Toys has done an incredible job with the First Order Stormtrooper.

The First Order Stormtrooper comes with five interchangeable hands, a First Order blaster, a First Order blaster pistol, as well as a three piece display base which features the First Order insignia on its base. Also included are two hand attachment pegs to assist the collector in switching out the hands a little more easily. The black and white weapons complement the armor beautifully. A sticking point with many is the set MSRP for the figures in the Hot Toys collection. At a rather high $204.99, it doesn’t feel like you get a whole lot with regards to this collectible. But you do get quality, and for many that’s a price worth paying. If you ask us, we’re honestly perplexed by all of the crossing of licensing across figures in the same scale. Hasbro supposedly still holds the license for 12-Inch Figures, yet they “lent out” the license to Sideshow so that high quality 1:6 Scale Figures could be made. Now Hot Toys has joined in on the fun. But now collectors can rest assured that they’ll be getting the highest quality figures from across the Star Wars saga now. The First Order Stormtrooper proves to us that great things are coming our way based on Episode VII. We wonder how successful the line will be. Are hardcore Star Wars collectibles going to be sinking money in characters from the latest Star Wars film? Will they just stick with the Original Trilogy and Prequel Trilogy instead? There has to be a cut off at some point. And for many, that line was drawn years ago because of space.
