We think that Disney Stores saved the best Talking Star Wars figure for last. Boba Fett probably would have won the “best” ranking even if he wasn’t as good as the other figures in the line just because of who he is, but we have to admit that the Talking Boba Fett figure is incredibly well done and a step above the rest. It has one issue and we’re going to address that very briefly as a flyby comment. Once again someone didn’t pay close enough attention and have tapered the visor ever so lightly as it heads from top to bottom. It’s very slight but it’s enough to be an annoyance for us. And that friends, is about the only issue with the Talking Boba Fett figure. The rest of him is pure bliss. It’s almost as if these figures are cookie cutter. Obviously they are each different characters, but they have very similar articulation and action features, and from one character to the next they appear is almost the same exact spots. Talking Boba Fett is the first bounty hunter in this very enjoyable line. And because Boba Fett was done so well, we really hope to see a few other bounty hunters in this line as well. Faithful to the onscreen character (and based on his appearance in The Empire Strikes Back), you should expect the Talking Boba Fett to be the most highly sought after figures in all the Talking Star Wars Figures line.

Boba Fett looks fantastic. He is larger than the human character like Talking Luke Skywalker and Talking Han Solo. And he is great proportion to Talking Darth Vader and Talking Chewbacca. If you just saw this character on a shelf somewhere, you would be very, very impressed with his likeness. We believe that Disney has nailed his proportions, coloring, details and features flawlessly (except for that one little nagging issue we mentioned earlier). Talking Boba Fett has a perfect helmet, the right symbols on his armor and an incredible paint job which brings out extremely fine details like dirt accumulation on his blue jumpsuit as well as plenty of dents on his helmet and chest armor. Not often employed with this line of figures, Disney added a ball-jointed head sculpt to this figure which allows you to turn his helmet not only left and right, but also upwards and downwards (to certain limits obviously). The color palette used as well as the neatness in which it is applied, especially since this is intended to be a kids’ toy first and then a collectors’ item second, is quite stunning. We are literally unable to criticize the art aspects of this figure because it has been done gorgeously. We are that impressed with Talking Boba Fett.

Talking Boba Fett comes with plenty of generous articulation. He isn’t loaded with ball-jointed articulation, but Disney has added enough points to give him plenty of movement. We had a blast posing him in various configurations, so check out our photo gallery carefully to see just what this figure can do. No matter what position we chose, Talking Boba Fett appeared believable (and looked just plain awesome) no matter how hard we tried to make him look silly. The ball-socket hips are what really gives Talking Boba Fett that extra oomph. Not only do they look great, they allow Talking Boba Fett that range of movement needed to attain those fantastic poses. His action feature (the talking portion) is blended in seamlessly with this figure and completely inconspicuous. The center of his chest armor is actually the button that makes him talk. People have criticized the actual phrases he says. We honestly don’t care. We’re more about the toy itself than what comes out of the voice chip. There is another button on his right shoulder that is completely conspicuous. When you press that button his gun “fires” and the tip lights up. It looks great. Talking Boba Fett is a bargain. For less than $30 you get a work of art, complete with articulation and fun action features. What else could you want for young Star Wars fans?
