Stormtroopers are elite shock troops fanatically loyal to the Empire and the Imperial cause.

We have an obligatory Stormtrooper for the new 4-inch scale of action figures. As expected, the disproportionate all-new figure looks mildly like the characters seen in The Mandalorian. This figure has the flared lower leg armor and a bit boxier upper body. Still, with a 5POA action figure, there isn’t too much to worry about since these figures have muted or diminished detail, generally speaking. The Stormtrooper has a ball-jointed head, two swivel shoulders, and two swivel hips. It holds the E-11 blaster well but comes without any other accessories. The stature of the figure is bizarre. It looks too bulky in some areas and too round in others. And it has holes in its forearms and back for unknown additional accessories. The first wave of the Epic Hero Series line comes with a jumble of characters. No one can recreate a whole scene from any Star Wars source with the first half dozen or so figures, so we anticipate that Hasbro has future waves planned for imminent release. This unnecessary 4-inch scale is salt in the wound for the Hasbro Star Wars brand. We have perfectly tooled super-articulated Stormtroopers in every scale now, and there is no need to keep reinventing the wheel with ANOTHER 5POA line. While the Stormtrooper might be one of the safest characters to introduce into a newly scaled line, it’s still unneeded. It feels like a waste when so many other characters need desperate releases. So far, the Epic Hero Series line has two formats: basic and deluxe figures. And the Stormtrooper has an MSRP of $9.99. It’s unknown how well this line will do, but we don’t anticipate anything revolutionary happening with it. There is too much competition fighting for the eyes and wallets of collectors. Kids don’t want Star Wars toys, and the time and energy expended on the Epic Hero Series line feels wasteful at best.
