In love with Anakin
After Padmé’s life is threatened, she is placed under the protection of the Jedi Knights to ensure her safety. Padmé is delighted by Anakin’s playful use of the Force during a quiet meal they share together.
Star Wars fans love sexy female action figures. Padmé Amidala is a sexy action figure. And through a mild misuse of the transitive property, Star Wars fans and collectors clearly love Padmé Amidala. And they should because while Hasbro doesn’t release frequent versions of her, the ones they do release are usually excellent. She is definitely a difficult figure for which to include 14 points of articulation, but Hasbro has managed to incorporate as much movement as they can in the action figures while working around a lot a dresses and big flourishing gowns. Hasbro especially put some thought into the 30 (77-07) version of Padmé and created two outfit styles in one. Both the dinner scene and the fireside scene in Attack Of The Clones shows Padmé wearing the same gown but with different accessories and not both of these looks can be obtained in this one action figure. Padmé Amidala has been given a lot of loving nicknames including "Black Leather Padmé Amidala", "Fireside Padmé Amidala" and "Sexy Padmé Amidala", all of which are appropriate here. She has been made to look lean and slender and while her portrait is attractive, it may have needed the ever slightest revisit to be perfect. (But much of the imperfection in the face is due to poor paint applications, but we’ll get to that in a minute. Padmé Amidala is her black attire is a long-awaited figure and we truly believe has did this action figure justice. Definitely geared towards collectors, it seems as if the Attack Of The Clones versions of Padmé Amidala are some of Hasbro’s best interpretations of her.
With a minimal eight points of articulation, you wouldn’t expect Padmé Amidala to do that much would you? Wrong! Where she lacks for articulation, Hasbro has included removable parts of her outfit to allow you to recreate her look throughout their courting process on Naboo. This Naboo Senator is sleek, sexy and still has a confident leader’s aura about her. She comes with a drinking glass for an accessory, but more importantly, her scarf and shawl are removable to show her gorgeous skin underneath. Samples vary from the figure's face having perfect paint application to some having nightmarish paint applications, so spend some time picking your sample well! Impressively, she has ball-jointed shoulders and elbows, yet her arms remain delicate and thin in proportion to her frame. And the fingers on her hands are thin and long as they should be. The lower half of her just pivots at the waist joint and she is essentially a statue here, but Hasbro beautifully decorated her dress with a textured silver and black pattern that is just stunning. It captures light amazingly and we have to say it is one of the most brilliantly approached outfits for her in quite some time. She is in perfect scale with the 2005 ROTS Anakin Skywalker To Darth Vader Evolutions Anakin Skywalker figure and it just gives us a sigh of relief that we can rest assured Hasbro pretty much knows what to do at this point for collectors. Padmé Amidala is clearly a figure that won’t be fighting in your battle dioramas, but she is nonetheless a much needed and excellent addition to anyone’s collection, especially lovers of all things Padmé Amidala.
Released as part of the last wave of “all-new” figures in 2007 (right before the “repacks and repaints” Wave 9), Padmé Amidala score high marks from us for the excellent versatility and beautiful sculpting Hasbro gave this action figure. And if you’re wondering if there is a variation on her the answer to that is yes. You can find Padmé Amidala packed with either a coin or an action figure stand with a personalized nameplate. Thankfully, you don’t need the action figure stand with her because she stand perfectly erect as is thanks to smart engineering on Hasbro’s part. Padmé Amidala. Always thankful we are for action figures that possess the natural ability to stand upright unassisted. So whether you’re looking to develop a display of how Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala developed their love for each other, this is a required action figure. But this figure does so much more than complete a display scene in your collection. Typically, all collectors want every version of Padmé from the films completed as an action figure. And the only way that goal will be attained is for Hasbro to include a good sampling of them into every basic figure line. The 30 (77-07) line proved that Hasbro has the capability to not only perform well with this stride, but also provide quality action figures while doing so. We hope that many of Padmé Amidala’s outfits from Episode I are focused on next. We need so many updates and well as never before made outfits from that film. (And Episode II and Episode III have just as many if not more to go too.) But that is what keeps this hobby so enthralling. Not knowing what is coming next makes it all the more enticing.
