Holy cow. Galaxy Of Adventures figures like Ahsoka Tano makes our hearts hurt, knowing we won’t see any other figures in this lineup again, or at least any time soon. The efforts Hasbro out into the line are nothing short of extraordinary; From the buttery smooth and correctly functioning articulation system to the flawless paint operations, the Galaxy Of Adventures line proves Hasbro is capable of making high-quality action figures. But with any new line of action figures, if you don’t keep it rolling for a couple of years, it will feel incomplete and without a proper goodbye. Ahsoka Tano is a perfect example of a figure that will get lost in the mix. Thankfully, Hasbro also produced Ahsoka’s Clone Trooper in this lineup so that the figures can interact with each other. But a character like Darth Maul, for example, has no other characters to engage. And we find this a shame. Based on the character’s appearance from the final season of The Clone Wars, Ahsoka Tano is a testament that Hasbro still produces little plastic works of art. And if you don’t collect this line, hopefully, a figure like Ahsoka Tano will sway you to make a purchase.
We’d also like to comment that as much as we love this version of Ahsoka Tano, we find it egregious that Hasbro didn’t produce it for The Vintage Collection yet. We have The Black Series [Phase IV] Ahsoka Tano in this version, and now the Galaxy Of Adventures 5” scale. So now all of us need a super-articulated 3.75” version of Ahsoka Tano. It’s the right thing to do for us, Hasbro. As you know, we feel that there is something special about this line, and we’re heartbroken that it didn’t grasp the hearts of the collecting community. And a figure like Ahsoka Tano, if released earlier in the line, perhaps would have prompted a heavier concentration of sale and therefore boost the line to a successful plateau. Yes, a new scale of action figures is a terrible idea, and we’re the last people to champion something like that. But the 5” Galaxy Of Adventures line is stunningly excellent. If Hasbro decided to nix the action features, it would have been flawless. You don’t see paint operations this perfect on action figures, and the Galaxy Of Adventures line shows how much detail Hasbro can work into their action figures.
Ahsoka Tano has an authentic costume to what we see on-screen, and Hasbro transitioned this into animated style beautifully. The figure comes with both a lightsaber and shoto. Hasbro chose not to make the blades removable, and honestly, we’re okay with that. You can’t hang the lightsabers on the belt when the blades aren’t removable, but this option doesn’t feel taken away from you here. Hasbro molded the hands of Ahsoka Tano to accommodate the accessories well. You’ll find that Ahsoka Tano can hold both the lightsaber and shoto with one or two hands. You’re posing options are relatively limitless. Ahsoka Tano has excellent articulation. But this detail is consistent for all of the Galaxy Of Adventures action figures. All of them have standard articulation, too, so don’t expect anything new implemented here. While we’re happy to see “rocker” ankles integrated into these figures, it frustrates us that Hasbro doesn’t consistently implement this type of articulation into all of the new The Vintage Collection action figures. We’ll continue to enjoy this line, but we hope others, even those who won’t purchase the line, will admit how gorgeous these figures are.
