We don’t understand how any Star Wars collector wouldn’t fall in love with an action figure that looks like the Galaxy Of Adventures 5” Yoda figure. OK, so maybe animated style doesn’t grab all collectors, but look at this thing. Yoda looks a lot like the character we see in The Clone Wars television series. Yes, the character seems fresh and new in the Galaxy Of Adventures format. Perhaps collectors are so frustrated with Hasbro making super-articulated action figures in every scale EXCEPT 3.75-inch that they won’t give any other format a chance. Besides, do Star Wars collecting need another competing scale of action figures anyway? Why can’t Hasbro focus on what has been successful for years and years? With all of this said, we still adore the revisited Galaxy Of Adventures toy line. We love animated characters. And we love the high-quality of this 5” line, along with sculpts loaded with premium articulation. And yes, we wish the action features would go away completely. Mocked as "Fallacy Of Adventures" and "Galaxy Of Unavoidable Clearance," the Galaxy of Adventures is half-way up its uphill battle of demise.

As we’ve mentioned, Yoda is adorable. Hasbro opted to design a Yoda that crosses both the Original and Prequel Trilogy timelines. Yoda comes with a removable cloak shell, but the figure looks silly without out it. For The Original Trilogy, Hasbro added Yoda’s signature gimer stick. And for the Prequel Trilogy, they’ve added both a lit green lightsaber and a Force effect. The Force effect is not like anything we’ve seen in the line to date. Hasbro design a ball and “lightning” type of effect where Yoda’s right hand grasps the “ball” section of the effect to make it look like the action figure deflects some evil Force lightning. You can also interpret the “Force lighting” portion to be some Force “push” instead. The option is yours. Yoda can hold the lightsaber in both hands, but you get a better “swing” with the left hand. Also, Yoda looks “amazing” with the Force effect in the left hand and the wielded lightsaber in the right hand. Coincidentally, Hasbro also added a clear display stand that sports the STAR WARS logo, and you can position Yoda on it to achieve more of the action-oriented poses.

Hasbro worked in an action figure into the head of Yoda. When you press down, you get “lightsaber” swinging action. It’s dumb, but all of these figures come with some annoying action feature that it best overlooked than utilized. Yoda comes with an impressive 18 points of articulation. Hasbro incorporated a ton of ball-jointed articulation into Yoda, and the figure has a wealth of movement that you cannot appreciate unless you have the figure in hand. There are no ankle joints in this figure, but that’s alright since there isn’t much length in its lower legs. Yoda received an excellent paint job, including Photo Real deco, in the face. Yoda’s eyes are beautiful and capture the attitude and personality of the figure brilliantly. You can’t tell if Yoda is beginning to smile or starting to scowl. We think that’s quite an accomplishment for Hasbro to capture in this action figure. Overall, we’re zealously head over heels for the Galaxy Of Adventures 5” line. Yoda is an excellent choice for the lineup, but Yoda is also the beginning of the end. It’s a shame this line won’t advance too far beyond the main Star Wars characters.
