General Analysis
Ten years after the fight to save Naboo from invasion, the galaxy is on the brink of civil war. Under the leadership of a renegade Jedi, thousands of solar systems threaten to secede from the Galactic Republic. A courageous Jedi Knight, his impulsive and headstrong apprentice, and a queen-turned-senator are drawn into the heart of the conflict... and the beginning of war.
Kit Fisto
A determined and resourceful Jedi, Kit Fisto tenaciously holds to the goal of maintaining peace throughout the galaxy and defending the honor of the Jedi Code. Sent to Geonosis to rescue Padmé, Anakin and Obi-Wan, Kit valiantly battles against overwhelming odds.
Once in a while, action figures with action features turn out pretty well. The trend of good to excellent action figures with play features is more of a rarity than anything else because awkwardly added springs, levers, and magnets tend to be obtrusive to the aesthetics of a typically good sculpt. However, if Hasbro hides these said action features well, they can enhance rather than become a nuisance. We suppose that Kit Fisto (Jedi Master) falls somewhere within the middle of that spectrum. Hasbro placed an abnormally beautiful portrait on the sculpt of a body with minimal articulation as well as a strategically placed action feature. What you get is a creative and exciting take on the Nautolan Jedi Master. Let's admit it. Kit Fisto stole the show in Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones. Who could forget him charging into battle in the Geonosian Arena or his antics when he smiled after Force-pushing "C-3PO" to the ground? Immediately recognizable as a standout character, Kit Fisto (Jedi Master) is one of the earliest releases in the Star Wars "Saga" line and one of the nicest. Keeping in mind that this version isn't a collector's dream as far as articulation is concerned, it does have some lovely detailing and worthwhile tooling that should interest collectors in one way or another.
Kit Fisto (Jedi Master) is a figure geared towards younger collectors. Let's not make any mistakes about that. But we also have to clarify that adult collectors would be hard-pressed not to find any charm with this action figure. The head sculpt is divine, the paint job is even better, and the action-posed stance is not half-bad if you consider its screen-accuracy. How else would you look if you were battling the Separatist Droid Army in the Geonosian Arena? You can pull back Kit Fisto (Jedi Master) 's left arm to fling the arm out to create some lightsaber slashing effect, but if you choose not to activate that feature, Kit Fisto (Jedi Master) maintains a believable and natural pose. There are no loosely dangling extremities like many other action feature-laden action figures Hasbro creates. But we should note that Hasbro didn't afflict all of the Star Wars "Saga" figures with these setbacks. Kit Fisto (Jedi Master) holds the hilt remarkably well in both hands, and you can attain many poses in this lightsaber configuration. What more could you ask for from a kid-focused action figure? Kit's costume looks as appropriately colored as possible, but the skin color seems off overall. It could look better. Regardless, Kit Fisto (Jedi Master) impresses where other Star Wars "Saga" figures disappoint.
Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones introduced us to a plethora of Jedi that fans never saw until the Battle of Geonosis. Weequay, Klatooinian, and Nikto Jedi filled the screen. Many species that became famous for their thuggery in the Original Trilogy are now fighting for good alongside heroes to protect against the Separatists. At the same rate, we meet all-new species, like the Nautolan Kit Fisto, as well. Star Wars fans are most interested in the action we see in the Star Wars films. And with Attack of The Clones having a slow and drawn-out beginning, it's nice to know that it ended with a bang. It came in like a lamb and went out like a lion. Hasbro has attempted to preserve the action and excitement of the scenes on Geonosis with good action figures like Kit Fisto (Jedi Master). It's not close to definitive status, but if you're looking for a decent version of the character in action, then this version is at the very least a temporary placeholder for your collection. Adult collectors are rightfully preoccupied with articulation, so it's comforting when Hasbro does all they can to satiate the needs of both kids and collectors in one action figure. Kit Fisto (Jedi Master) needs some work, but it's a great starting point.
