The latest wave of The Black Series [Phase III} 6″ figures have been found at a Target in Minnetonka,MN. JTA Reader Adam K. found Snoke, Jaina, and Rose all at his local Target. It might be time to start taking a look if you need these!
As of this post, many of the figures that were part of The Black Series [Phase III] 3.75″ super-articulated Ponda Baba wave are pennies on the dollar. Some are low as $5.97. If you’re still missing them, now is the chance to grab Tusken Raider, Ponda Baba, Boba Fett (Prototype Armor) and Sandtrooper. Special thanks to friend Steve U. for the alert!

Well, this is interesting. I had received some correspondence from our friends at Star Wars Figuren earlier this morning noting that there are different variations to how Luke’s face was painted on the TARGET exclusive “Ahch-To Island” version hitting now. Then my friend Rich Alot, who is on business in Tokyo Japan, found this same exclusive there and those Luke figures had just a slight pink hue to their faces. Now, friend Mario M. sends me an image of a Luke that appears to have no zombie quality at all (where the red/pink deco is completely gone). Click the image below for more.
JTA Reader MaxOfRen shared with me a packaging variant he noticed last night when picking up another Rey on Crait TRU Exclusive. As you can see from the images below, the left one has a raised, glossy text while the right one is flat and matte. Both of these Rey’s have the same date codes stamped on them as well, so that is even more perplexing, but now the variant hunters can begin the search. Which one do you have?

JTA Reader MaxOfRen shares with us a new Walmart shipper he discovered today at a Walmart in Birmingham, AL. As you can see, it is stocked with the latest wave of 6″ Black Series, 3.75″ Force Link figures (including Obi-Wan and Yoda), and the latest 12″ figures (including Poe Dameron and Yoda). It will be nice to see these hit stores in some larger quantity. I personally haven’t seen the Maz wave in any stores near me yet.
JTA reader Jason A. has found new Star Wars die cast metal vehicles at his local Disney Store. They have been given beautiful paint jobs. Click the images below to check them out!
JTA reader and friend Danny R. has ALSO found the TARGET exclusive Luke Skywalker (Jedi Master) (Ahch-To Island) 6″ figure and we asked him to take some images inside of the packaging. Luke also appears to have a zombie-like quality to his facial paint operations. Also, accessories are less than other figures in this line. Click each image for additional details.
From the day I saw the Resistance Gunner Paige and Resistance Tech Rose on store shelves September 1st, I stated immediately how intrigued I was by their characters and that I hoped right from the start that their characters would become a meaningful addition to The Last Jedi. The Last Jedi MUST DELIVER! This is evidenced by how I feel about The Force Awakens. In my opinion, Star Wars needs a jolt of Force lightning in the storytelling and I hope it gets rejuvenated into hyperdrive with Episode VIII. Just recently, director Rian Johnson hosted a Twitter Q&A. One of the questions asked focused on what character he is most interested in and he made it clear that Rose is a character he adores. I can’t tell you how excited I am by Rian’s response. Click through to check it out. Do you think Rian is right? Are we in store for something good with Rose? Lord knows she’s got to be better than Rey!
USA Today is surmising that The Last Jedi could have a $200M opening because of the inseparable love for Carrie Fisher and her character Leia Organa by fans. Check out the article and then let us know what you think in our comments.
Do you want to see one of the most amazing exclusive items on the planet right now? JTA reader and good friend Mario M. sent me an image of something I must have. Why does it look more interesting than Hasbro’s Rogue One Rapid Fire Imperial AT-ACT? And it’s only $25. And you get popcorn! Mario also let me know that the legs and neck have articulation and the side guns move as well. It also comes with a lanyard so it can be carried over the shoulder.

I have seen some strange eBay auctions in my past, but this one stands out. Is anybody in the mood for empty boxes of already unboxed Hasbro The Black Series 6″ figures? Special thanks to Paul B. for the alert. (By the way as an aside, doesn’t the word “unboxing” just make you want to hurt someone?)
The TARGET exclusive The Black Series [Phase III] Luke Skywalker (Jedi Master) (Ahch-To Island) figure has been found at TARGET for $29.99. For those interested in locating one, the DPCI is 087-06-8396. Special thanks to JTA reader Destin S. for the alert who is reporting from Bakersfield, CA!

The Toy Run Podcast Facebook page has started a pretty interesting discussion about how collectors view LEGO versus Hasbro. The discussion is so good that I think it warrants bringing this out of social media and to the Star Wars fan site community where it belongs. Here are the thoughts and questions paraphrased:
LEGO collectors went crazy for the UCS Millennium Falcon. It sold out within a day or two and no one balked at the price. Likewise, there aren’t too many complaints about its size or the space it takes up. The only complaints seem to be that it’s sold out and there are still people who want to purchase it.
Then you take the Hasbro Star Wars action figure crowd of collectors. Hasbro finally gives us a HUGE FO Special Forces TIE Fighter for $169 in The Black Series 6″ line and it pretty much bombs at retail. It didn’t even sell out 2 years later (!) at $50 online this past Black Friday.
Why is a Lego collector willing to pay $800+ (and is happy about it) while a Hasbro Star Wars action figure collector doesn’t want to spend $170 for a big vehicle? It’s perplexing.
In our comments, please leave your own thoughts about this.
The Walmart exclusive Tusken Raider is IN STOCK for only $7.99 if you’re interested in army building him. Special thanks to JTA reader John M. for the alert!

I meant to post this on Tuesday evening, but I ran out of time because of holiday travels. My local TARGET, much to shock and surprise, had the “Return Of The Jedi” three-pack out of the shelf. As you know, we’re crazy in love with this set and are hoping Hasbro will translate all of the figures inside of it to super-articulated glory. You can check out our review of this set HERE if you haven’t checked it out yet also.
The Walmart Exclusive Funko Pop Movie Moment Darth Vader Vs Obi-Wan is now in stock at Walmart.com. They also have the X-Wing Pilot Set marked down to $19.99. We’ll keep you posted when the rest of the Movie Moments come in stock.
Despite showing up at TARGET for $49.99. Despite showing up at multiple discount outlets for pennies on the dollar. Despite showing up on Hasbro Toy Shop’s eBay store. Despite multiple Amazon deal of the days for this item. Despite Walmart’s and Toys R Us’ online stores dumping it for a fraction of its original MSRP. Despite ALL OF THIS, there is STILL stock of the successful The Black Series [Phase III] First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter. Now ROSS is receiving them (along with a ton other The Force Awakens and Rogue One merchandise) for $69.99. I don’t think there is anywhere else this vehicle can go. Bring back super-articulation in a hardcore fashion, and see this overstock become a fraction of what it currently is.
Yahoo! has republished their popular article on the vintage Kenner Star Wars Early Bird Kit (which originally ran December 2015). Because this December marks the official 40th Christmas anniversary of Kenner’s groundbreaking Early Bird Kit “empty box” promotion, Yahoo! has wisely decided to rerun the article and update it to include The Black Series 6″ Legacy Pack which was inspired off of this original collectible as well as other “insider” updates. We should also note, although not mentioned in the article, that Hasbro paid homage to this concept back in 2005 for 3.75″ scaled action figures for The Saga Collection. You can check out both the Early Bird Certificate Package and the Early Bird Figures sets in our Research Droids Reviews. In the meantime, check out the revised article from Yahoo! News.
Walmart.com has the summer convention exclusive POP! Combat Assault Tank Trooper for $2.98. Thanks to Craig for the alert!
JTA reader from France, Patrice, sends us evidence that, for lack of of a better description, the “inclusive edition” of Monopoly has reached his homeland. This edition includes Rey and the packaging has been given a “call out” sticker to notify potential buyers of Rey’s inclusion here. This is an interesting turn of events since Hasbro declared recently (this past summer) that an edition including Rey would not be produced.

It’s probably safe to assume that there is going to be a six-pack of 12-Inch Figures for every new Star Wars film coming out. The TARGET exclusive BB-8/Captain Poe Dameron/Rey (Jedi Training)/First Order Stormtrooper Executioner/Kylo Ren/First Order Stormtrooper Squad Leader set serves a purpose, but there is a lot of repetition here. Hasbro has produced one of the greatest 3.75″ three-packs the line has ever seen with this release. Love them or hate them, the 5POA figures included in this set represent some of the best/finest likenesses of three core Original Trilogy characters. Most of the figures in this set come with more than 5POA. The figures are NOT perfect, but the approaches made with them show that Hasbro is committed to creating products that are as faithful as possible to their onscreen counterparts. Emperor Palpatine is the best Episode VI version of the character ever. Luke Skywalker could not be more reminiscent of the 1983 figure. And, while as simple as it could be done, the Emperor’s Royal Guard is exactly what we need for an “at attention” iteration of them. Start praying now that Hasbro takes the digital files, at the very least, of the Emperor Palpatine figure and develop a glorious The Vintage Collection version. We all have waited WAY too long for that figure. Also, be sure to come back and check out the review on Black Friday where I have a couple of cool snippets of trivia that you may or may not know about these figures. Click any image below to be taken to the early draft of the RDR.

It seems that anything online (and in a social type of setting) is harmful to your mental health anymore. Forbes posted a fantastic recent article outlining six ways that social media is affecting the mental health of those who constantly utilize it, and with really no surprise, EA is in the middle of a controversy that there new Star Wars game was really just gambling masked in Star Wars which is all social media based. We’re beginning to believe that people should probably step away from these social media outlets and related things. What we have all personally witnessed online and they affects they’ve clearly had on people are frightening. And now it’s starting to affect younger minds. It’s time to get the kids (as well as the rest of us) outside and in the fresh air again. Anyway, check out the article on EA at CNBC.com. It’s another frightening example of what can happen in the social media/gaming arena. Remember how hard it was to give up Candy Crush? It seems things are headed in the right direction for EA, but it’s scary to think what might have been.

Hasbro announces Micro Force! Click through for details!
The Rapid Fire Imperial AT-ACT vehicle from the Rogue One line has finally hit ROSS and can be purchased there for $89.99 if your store was fortunate to receive stock. If only this vehicle would have been stripped of its NERF gimmick, given a larger scale (Hasbro already has the tooling from 2010) and made collector-friendly, this set would have sold like hotcakes at close to MSRP. Hopefully next time. Special thanks to JTA reader Tim M. for the report!
Hurry! The TARGET exclusive Emperor Palpatine/Luke Skywalker/Emperor’s Royal Guard three-pack is IN STOCK and ready to ship from TARGET.com! Special thanks to JTA reader Scott M. for the alert!
I’m not exactly sure where they got it from yet, but a seller on in New York had a case of the latest wave of The Black Series 6″ that included Luke (Jedi Master), Rey (Jedi Training), Jaina Solo, Resistance Tech Rose, and Supreme Leader Snoke on Mercari. He sold them for a reasonable $23 price tag also. They could be popping up anytime now for pre-order, so keep an eye out! Another seller in Wisconsin also had the newest Funko Movie Moments, so that’s another item to keep an eye out for.
The best part of the Rose (First Order Disguise)/BB-8/BB-9E Two-Packs set is the Force Link. Find out why this is the case in our Research Droids Reviews today! Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! As always, you can also send your own personal review requests via email if you’d like to see something that we didn’t cover yet.
We have a sneak peek for you tonight of the latest wave of Two-Packs sets. Interestingly, one of them this time is a three-pack. The Rose (First Order Disguise)/BB-8/BB-9E set is about as average as they come. The new sculpt of Rose is nice, but the deco is not great. The BB units are all-new sculpts as well, and they look about average. But their Force Link sound effects are divine. You can tell them apart too. BB-8 is more high-pitched, and BB-9E is mostly lower tones. It’s like they communicate by farting. It’s great. (The Disney Parks versions are infinitely better. We’ve added comparison pictures for you to see for yourselves.) The Chirrut Imwe/Baze Malbus is a pure joy if you’re a fan of the film. Chirrut finally gets his bowcaster rifle and says one-half of his immortal line from the film. Hasbro goofed by not completing it with Force Link. (We’re quite disappointed by this.) Baze Malbus is more of the same, but it’s cool to have him talk this time. Anyway, click the thumbnails below to check out the Photo Gallery and Collector Notes for each review now. Full reviews start tomorrow!
It’s full of repacks, but we’re still adding the Kohl’s exclusive 4-pack to our Visual Guides tonight! Click below for the full guide page. We also have a full review of this set right here.

Before he battled with the Ghost crew on Star Wars Rebels. Before he was Grand Admiral. He was just Thrawn. And we’ll soon see his story in comic-book form. StarWars.com has an exclusive sneak preview of the upcoming comic!
Halloween has passed, but hopefully a scary joke will still work? Typically jokes about Constable Zuvio are played out at this point, bu this is a good one. What is scarier than seeing Zuvio at your local retailer still? Click through to find out the answer.
“But they don’t get paid enough to care!” I recently was out shopping on an extremely rare toy run to pick up the newly released Rey (Jedi Training) (Crait) figure for our RDRs. (I don’t collect these things and going on toy runs has been pointless since 2013 in my area.) A couple of different stores had them in stock, but most of them looked like what is shown in the image below. Can’t Toys R Us employees show a little more tender loving care when it comes to our Star Wars collectibles? Accidents are always possible, but this was just careless rushing getting stock onto the shelves. We have also seen reports of this same thing across the country from our Facebook readers too.

Wow. This is an unexpected surprise! It looks like Emperor Palpatine will be coming carded separately in the Force Link basic figure line as evidenced by this eBay auction. Check out on eBay! This figure will probably be in the same case assortment with the X-wing Pilot Asty lookalike character that was revealed at NYCC. Special thanks to JTA reader Josh C. for the alert!
It’s time for another Visual Guide Action Photography update, this time featuring our first full spotlight article showcasing the talents of one photographer. We’re presenting the work from imperial_sock, showing off his talents photographing 3.75″ figures. If you recall, he also gave us this super-cool video that we featured last week. Click through to check out some of his work that is now added to our Visual Guides!
Well, Rey (Jedi Training) (Crait) is a bit of a conundrum. The figure looks about as perfect as it can without the “photo realistic” technology and is certainly a step up from the basic release. But we’re thinking that the soft-goods might be working against this figure somewhat. The environmental pieces are awesome, but they don’t connect that well and don’t lay flatly against a flat surface when assembled. The metal accessories are a nice touch, but are collectors going to care? Also, we’re not sure if Rey’s “zombie” colored skin is intentional, or if she sustains some bruising in this film. Of particular note, she has a cut on her right arm. Does she get violent with Luke Skywalker in Episode VIII? Hmm. Check out our Photo Gallery and Collector Notes now. The review is hitting tomorrow!
Toys R Us apparently send out e-mails today to let us know that they will be giving out Free The Last Jedi posters with any Star Wars purchase. I did not receive one of those e-mails, so thankfully JTA reader and friend Charlie sent it my way. They are also having a $10 off of $50 Star Wars purchase sale going on as well. Below you can see the two posters I was able to get from my local TRU. One featuring Crait and the Ski Speeders and one featuring the Hangar explosion and they’re both 18″ x 24″.
The Toys R Us exclusive Force Link Starter Set/First Order Stormtrooper Executioner/Elite Praetorian Guard (With Whip-Staff) has two cool figures with it, but why is there an exclusive version of the Force Link wristband? I was driving past my local TRU this morning in East Brunswick, NJ when I got a text from a friend about a TRU product which prompted me to veer off into the TRU parking lot and have a peek. Thankfully I did because they had just stocked the TRU Exclusive Black Series Rey and some of the Ackbar/ FO Officer 2-packs. I had missed the Rey pre-order so it was a welcomed surprise. If you need this beautiful exclusive, it’s time to start checking your local TRU.

Today New Zealand Mint announced the launch of the next poster coin from the final installment of the original Star Wars trilogy – Return of Jedi – released in May 1983. The movie wrapped up all the story threads previously set in motion — Luke’s journey to become a Jedi, the Rebellion’s struggle against the Empire, and the redemption of Darth Vader — and did so amidst a backdrop of stunning visuals, thrilling action, and lots of strange creatures. Commercially, it was a monster success, breaking single day and opening weekend records with ease and catapulting the film swiftly up the all-time charts. Click through for full details!

If you’re still trying to lock down the Shoretrooper 12-Inch Figure from the Rogue One line, it’s in stock at Amazon for $10.99 and eligible for Prime. As you know, last wave syndrome and dreadful case assortments have made this figure nearly impossible to find at retail.

As you have heard already, Supreme Leader Snoke (Throne Room) is arriving across the USA. Reports of flawless packaging to absolutely horrid packaging are coming in as well. Some collectors are even getting different items than original ordered. Is it safe to say that GameStop is the nest retailer that needs to lose exclusivity rights to The Black Series 6″ line? Special thanks to JTA reader and friend Danny R. for the image.

JTA Reader Alexander F. sends us in this report of his latest purchase from Gamestop.com. He originally ordered two Artoo-Detoo 40th Anniversary Black Series figures, but when they showed up, he got a big surprise. He opened the large box to find two Supreme Leader Snoke (throne) instead of the Artoo’s. The receipt even says Artoo 40th Anniversary. This seems to happen more than it should. Have any of you had a similar mistake happen? Let us know in the comments below!
JTA reader and friend Derek T. reached out to me on Facebook to present me with evidence that a rare but existing variation of the Rogue One Fenn Rau exists. First samples that showed up on eBay with date stamp 63561 do not have the black line filled in on the figure’s belt buckle. The version from the CMD case packs (in Canada) as well as the Entertainment Earth figures (date stamps 70441 and 72421 respectively) both have the black paint detail added to his belt buckle. An already difficult figure to secure may have one of the most difficult variations to lock down as well.
Do you still need the Rapid Fire Imperial AT-ACT vehicle from the Rogue One line? Amazon has it for $119.99 + shipping. Thanks to rivesjunctionite for the alert!
Is this how the 40th anniversary celebration dies? With thunderous lackluster products? It’s hard to believe we’re already beyond the first week in November and that we’re just moments from reaching the holiday season once again. What’s more difficult to believe than this is what we received in the form of Star Wars merchandise to celebrate the monumental and once in a lifetime celebration of the 40th anniversary of Star Wars. (more….)
The official site has announced that the original Motion Picture Soundtrack of A New Hope with be reissued on vinyl. Our friends at Fantha Tracks have put together a fantastic article that focuses on the advertising of Star Wars toys through comic books, specifically in the UK. They go into history and cite some pretty amazing examples of how the brand was sold to kids back in the day. It’s definitely worth check out. Don’t forget to come back here to talk about it!!

For those of you that are interested, I was able to dig up the UPC and SKU for the new Funko Movie Moments that will be available at Walmart
Obi-Wan Vs Darth Vader: UPC: 889698232326/ SKU: 458936442
Han Solo Vs Greedo: UPC:889698232296/ SKU: 375520989
R2-D2/C-3PO: UPC: 889698232265 / SKU: 966459239
Luke & Leia: UPC: 889698232012/ SKU: 919495800
A little tip. If you go to Brickseek and look these up, you can create the barcode which you can then scan using the Walmart app. This way, you can create a list which allows you to keep track and see when they’re in stores near you.
Our friends at Fantha Tracks know a retailer who received the latest case assortment of the Star Wars [The Last Jedi] Two-Packs line. Do you see a problem here? Too much repetition of old and very little new makes retailer pegs a dull option for customers. Baze and Chirrut obviously have new Force Link technology, but they’re old figures. There is technically only one major new figure in this entire case pack (if you don’t count the revised BB-9E figure: Rose in disguise. Consider us concerned about wave 3 every making it to store pegs.
If you still need him, the Elite Praetorian Guard is IN STOCK at Hasbro Toy Shop with a limit of two per order. Special thanks to JTA reader Minelayer for the alert!
The Shoretrooper Captain/Bistan Two-Packs set has been saved! Let’s take a close look at it in our Research Droids Reviews today! Check out early Photo Galleries and Collector Notes for the first wave of Disney Store’s Star Wars Toybox Figures. These are pretty nice and loaded with The Vintage Collection quality articulation. If Disney started making realistically styled action figures with this high level of quality, we think Hasbro would be in big trouble. They’re in between the 3.75″ scale and the 6″ scale which creates another whole problem for collectors on the fence about starting a new line. Click through to check out these three figures. We think you’re going to love them too.

Wow! JTA friend and reader Mario M. sends us a store reprot from California. Would you believe he found a fresh case of The Black Series [Phase III] Scarif Stormtrooper 3.75″ figure case assortment today? He also found the Imperial Death Trooper wave as well. It looks like they’re still coming folks!
And because I am now being harassed across different sites now for not posting this yet, Martin M. also sends us an image of the new PEZ dispensers he just found. It looks like that porg is in pain. But will it make Elaine laugh?
It’s amazing any of these stores are left. Business Insider reveals that Kmart and Sears are closing even more stores. Special thanks to JTA reader Martin M. for the alert.
You can now Pre-order The Black Series Porg 2-pack for $6.90 from RobotKingdom.com due out First Quarter 2018. Thanks to JTA Reader and Friend Charlie for the heads up!
Do you remember what is was like to want more and more Star Wars because there wasn’t enough? We were lucky when we got the Expanded Universe novels and for a lot of us, that was (and still is) the Sequel Trilogy. Now we have the ‘new Canon’, and A LOT of it! So much so that it’s hard to keep track of it all! Well, that’s where Youtini comes in. Click through to read more about this great new venture.
The Supreme Leader Snoke (Throne Room) GameStop exclusive in BACK IN STOCK if you still need it! Special thanks to JTA reader Craig for the alert!
JTA reader Paul V. has already hit his local Disney Store and picked up the latest Toy Box figures. He also sends us a comparison shot to accurately show their size differences to Hasbro’s 3.75″ 5POA line. The Toy Box figures are noticeably larger. Check out the images yourself! I cannot wait to pick these up today!
Take a look at the IMAX International Posters. They’re the same as that IMAX display that we’ve seen, but I have a feeling that these will also be the posters we see given out at movie theaters for The Last Jedi just like they did for Rogue One and The Force Awakens. These look particularly awesome side by side. You can see Finn and Phasma about to go at each other and the lightsaber blades come together at the center. A bit of Light and Dark meeting in the middle? Or I just like looking into things too much lol, what do you think?
The new Funko Pop Leia On Speeder Bike is up for pre-order from TFAW for only $23.19 which is the lowest I’ve seen it. The great thing about this set? Luke on Speeder Bike is the Chase Variant and he’s only a 1:6 rarity!
If you pre-ordered the “Guardians Of Evil” 4-pack from Barnes & Noble, they’re beginning to arrive. I received mine last night and JTA reader and friend Danny R. received his as well.
Just as promised, Shop Disney has put the three new Star Wars Toy Box figures up for order for $12.95 each. These things looks “fantabulous.” They also show the back of the packaging where new figure silhouettes are revealed. Two have to be Han Solo and Sabine Wren, right? What do you think?
Following the rapid sell-out of all the Han Solo coins in the New Zealand Mint Star Wars Classic collection, they were inspired to use 2oz of silver and Ultra High Relief technology to recreate the struggling Han Solo as he is frozen in carbonite in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back. Naturally, they expect demand to be high for this one too! Get all of the details after the jump!
Let’s take a closer look at the Force Link General Leia Organa. She is a decent action figure, but you’re going to want to be picky when it comes to her paint operations. We have a sneak peek of the Rogue One Shoretrooper Captain Vs. Bistan Two-Packs set for you tonight. An overall nice release, it still has the typical paint operation issues and articulation issues that simply articulated figures typically have. And be sure to pay attention on our front page because Entertainment Earth has provided another set for a give-away that will be held here at Jedi Temple Archives. Stay tuned for more!
