It happens every year yet Disney is unable to realize that a world premiere introduction to the new figures is for the best. New The Last Jedi figures are leaking onto eBay now. (Are you really surprised? Hasbro couldn’t say a word about these at SDCC, but eBay and Instagram reveal them all. It’s ridiculous at this point.
The Episode III Gift Pack was an international exclusive released during The Saga Collection in 2006. It has one of the rarest figures of the entire Hasbro line in it. Most American collectors never got the figure either. Learn more in our Research Droids Reviews today. Walmart.com has put their exclusive Smart R2-D2 on rollback for a mere $34.99! I actually had a blast with this thing and he looks fantastic. This is the one that can be controlled through the app, do missions, play music, etc. At this price point, he is definitely worth it.
Tonight’s Visual Guide update features the Star Wars [Saga – Phase I] Walmart exclusive Ponda Baba (Cantina Bar Section) (1 of 3). Click below for the full guide page. Make sure to also stop by and check out our full review of this figure.

We previously reported on an upcoming Marvel comic series featuring Captain Phasma and there is also a new Phasma novel due out on Sept 1st. This seems to be an awful lot of story coming for a character who had nearly as much screen time as the Nightwatcher Worm, but she is supposed to be utilized much more in The Last Jedi and both Gwendoline Christie and Rian Johnson have seen to that by creating her new backstory. More after the jump.
The Obi-Wan Kenobi Deluxe figure from the Revenge Of The Sith line is the worst figure of all. Find out why in our Research Droids Reviews today. Well, from the various Hasbro interactions at SDCC this year, it seems that you can kiss away any chance of getting Fenn Rau (for a while at least). Just look at this loose one and how much it sold for today on eBay. It’s absolute insanity!

How about walking in to TARGET and finding the only case assortment of TBS6 figures this TARGET ever received and then being denied to buy the one and only figure you want from the case assortment because the DPCI for that figure is discontinued. Just like our rumor report stated months ago, Han Solo and Artoo-Detoo (R2-D2) from The Black Series [Star Wars 40] 6″ line are available as solid cases. JTA sponsor Big Bad Toy Store is now taking pre-orders for these figures.
io9 reveals that Captain Rex will make its debut at HASCON this September, before the general public gets to purchase him. Check out this interesting development. Will this be an “exclusive” with different packaging? Is there more to disappoint those that cannot make HASCON?
The Gentle Giant LTD. Early Bird Kit can be pre-ordered right now! It retails for $279.99.
JTA reader Russ T. graciously shares some “out of the box” images of the SDCC exclusive X-34 Landspeeder with Luke Skywalker. Of particular note, the packaging has been designed in a way where the top can be lifted off without any real damage being made to the packaging. (You have to slice some tape is all). Special thanks to him for sharing these images. Leave your thoughts in our comments!

Our friends at Yakface.com has dug around the web and have found information that reveals a playset for The Last Jedi line. Check out their report. If their site doesn’t load, just click refresh. It can’t handle more than one user at a time. 🙂 (Just kidding guys!)
New York Post posted an article, of which part of it reads: “There is fatigue with ‘Star Wars’ and all the hype surrounding the movies,” said BMO Capital Markets toy analyst, Gerrick Johnson. Disney decided to unspool “Star Wars” films in consecutive Decembers. The first movie, 2015’s “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” sparked much interest in its toy line. The reaction at retail was much more muted for 2016’s “Rogue One.” Too much of a good thing, it appears, is bad for the toy business. Check out the article and then come back and give your own thoughts on the matter.
There are a lot of mixed emotions when it comes to The Vintage Collection’s return. It’s been five years of H-E-double hockey sticks for longtime and hardcore 3.75” super-articulated collectors. Hasbro has listened to feedback from whiners like me and it is paying off hugely. The paradigm has shifted and we will once again see super-articulated action figures in glorious vintage Kenner inspired packaging. It feels like a dream, doesn’t it? Between being bombarded with adult collector complaints about TVC’s absence and Hasbro’s good stock market performance, the “stars have aligned” to make this all happen once again for us. If we’re patient, 2018 can be the greatest year since The Vintage Collection’s original run. However, many collectors are distressed by what was revealed thus far. Many are questioning why the line is beginning so many repacks. Believe it or not, it’s all for our benefit (my interpretation but I will explain). (more….)
Here we go again! Retail seems unable to abide by street dates for another round. New Force Friday II product is being leaked. JTA reader and Facebook user Eric S. has found these items at his local Toys R Us. Bad TRU, bad!

Hurry! If you need TBS 3.75″ Protype Boba Fett, Sandtrooper, and Tusken Raider you can grab them now! Ponda Baba was in stock, so he may be popping in and out. Keep checking back!

Starwars.com announced that Marvel’s flagship Star Wars series will be getting a new creative team beginning with issue #38 this fall. The writer/artist team behind the first Darth Vader series, Kieron Gillen and Salvador Larocca, will be taking over for Jason Aaron. More on this after the jump.
Remember this “rumor” report? (Click HERE to see it.) This is what we were alluding to in that post. The previously exclusive Walmart The Black Series [Phase III] 3.75″ figures can now be ordered by mainstream retailers. Diamond Distribution is now soliciting orders for Admiral Ackbar, Ahsoka Tano, Emperor’s Royal Guard, Lando Calrissian and Imperial Death Trooper and Jyn Erso for an August 31st availability date. Not available to order: Scarif Stormtrooper (SMH). Also note nothing is listed from the Ponda Baba wave either. Walmart has lost exclusivity to this line and it’s now a mainstream item. “Rumor” also has it that there will be one more wave of boxed figures on or around Force Friday II, but you never know if Hasbro will save them for The Vintage Collection instead. We’ll have to wait and see! Most importantly, take note of the MSRP. It’s a pretty “good” indicator of what to expect next year for another very important collection.
The Star Wars Show announced that John Powell will score the upcoming Han Solo Film. Powell is a composer known for films such as How to Train Your Dragon, Shrek, and the Jason Bourne franchise. He received an Oscar nomination for his work on How to Train Your Dragon. Powell is just the the third composer to score a live action Star Wars film. If you are familiar with Powell’s work, what do you think about this announcement? Let us know!
Well, according to a Customer Service exchange between Hasbro and a member of the SWBS6 Club: Star Wars Black Series 6″ Collectors Facebook group, SDCC exclusives will be available on September 1st (Force Friday II), with a caveat that this date could change. I guess these WON’T be available at HASCON this year. The delay of this date just makes little sense.
We have learned something that might be of interest to Star Wars collectors. As you know, Force Friday II is coming (the Rogue Friday launch wasn’t truly a Force Friday event) on September 1st. There are rumors circulating that there will be some sort of device app that will function as an Easter egg hunt/scavenger hunt of sorts to help collectors find all of The Last Jedi Star Wars figures they need on that day. As with anything, take this rumor with a grain of salt until it is officially announced.
I have had time to digest Hasbro’s presentation during San Diego Comic Con and I have distilled what concerns me and what elates me. While a 6” Maz Kanata is literally the VERY last thing I would ever want in my Star Wars collection personally, I have to admit that the rest of the presentation was Hasbro’s best in years. It certainly was far from perfection, but it’s a start and I want to be hopeful as I can. That being said, I do have great concerns. Adam Pawlus has already expressed his concern that The Vintage Collection smells like it might be dead on arrival. And in all honesty, part of me has similar reservations. But my hope outweighs the negatives at the moment. In an effort to keep thinking positively, I needed to itemize the pros and cons of what Hasbro has planned thus far. So, let’s talk about what will work and what absolutely won’t work so that we can clean up the negatives. Hasbro, please listen to this advising. We really know what’s best for The Vintage Collection. (more….)

The Forces of Destiny dolls have begun showing up at Toys R Us stores so it might be time to start looking if you’re after them. This photo comes from JTA reader Russ who found these at his local TRU in Wayne, NJ. Have you had any like finding these in your area? Let us know! Russ also shared an Amazon link to the elusive Jyn Erso Forces of Destiny doll. She’s been kept under tight wrap for whatever reason, but I think she looks great. How about you?
Unless you were lucky enough to pick up the exclusive SDCC version, you had to wait until today to pick up the latest novel release. Battlefront II: Inferno Squad is available in stores today. If you don’t want to hit your local brick-and-mortar store, you can pick this up on Amazon.com.
Check out this awesome new Funko POP! TIE Fighter with TIE Pilot available for pre-order from Entertainment Earth. It’s very similar to the Darth Vader and even sits on the top of the Death Star the same. Special thanks to JTA reader and friend Charlie for the heads up!
If you haven’t seen it yet, check out the final product images of the Hot Toys A New Hope Death Star Gunner Sixth Scale figure. This figure looks phenomenal in my opinion. The helmet is so nicely done and the detail is spot on, but the outfit is what really shines for me. It looks to be tailored to perfection and is also interchangeable. You can more images of this incredible figure here.
It has come to an end! The Darth Maul mini-series goes out with a clash, bang, and a sizzle. I found this to be a fitting end to this mini-series that gave us a deeper look into the character that we all love. If you haven’t yet,be sure to stop by the Research Droids Reviews Comics section and leave your thoughts in previous reviews. Is there a comic series you want to see reviewed? Fortune is reporting that Hasbro has suffered a 14% decrease in quarterly sales (its largest sales drop in two years). Much of the decrease has been due to a significant drop-off in popular products like the Easy Bake Oven and Super Soaker sales (among other high profile toys including Star Wars and Marvel). Shares recently fell 8.5%, the worst drop since October 2015 (right after Force Friday). The article goes on to say that the suits at Hasbro are banking on Star Wars: The Last Jedi to boost their faltering bottom line. Check out the article.
The C-3PO Deluxe figure set from the Star Wars “Saga” line is the greatest of the entire line. Find out why in our Research Droids Reviews today. It’s pretty eye-opening how far a little bit of good news can take you and can put that extra lift in your step. Let’s face it. The last four or five years of SDCC/Toy Fair Hasbro presentations have been violent kicks in the guts to super-articulated 3.75″ collectors. Thank the Maker things are changing in our favor. I mean, my interest was even piqued for the 5POA reveals, because deep down I knew that Hasbro had my back with the TVC announcements. Their Q&As even felt more promising than ever. Hopefully Hasbro has learned that they can no longer turn their backs on this 3.75″ super-articulated community. Yes, it’s going to take some time to get the momentum going, but there are big plans in the works. And we all need to work together to ensure they come to pass. So be patient.
Hasbro really started off this year’s presentation perfectly. I am so happy that the SDCC audience got to see that gorgeous The Vintage Collection “electronic press kit” video live like we did at SWCO. This powerful video will choke you up while you watch it. (If you haven’t seen it yet, click HERE.) It is truly the perfect way to start talking about The Vintage Collection in any setting, especially a convention. As you’ve heard Hasbro say multiple times now, this line is going to be a conversation. So, we’re going to absolutely make sure it stays a conversation. A constant one. Please, more than ever, when we post TVC-focused articles, be sure to leave your candid opinions about what Hasbro should (or shouldn’t) do with the line. We’ll remind you once again: they’re watching.
If you missed it on Amazon Prime Day, here’s another shot! You can get this Deluxe BB-8 for only $26.36 at Walmart.com after the sale discount and in store pick up discount. This thing was a lot cooler than I expected and I was happy I managed to snag him on Prime Day. Not to mention, my Niece can’t get enough of all his sounds. Special thanks to JTA reader Craig for the news!
We are honored to have teamed up with our good friend, the illustrious Victoria from Victoria’s Cantina, this year to conduct our Hasbro Q&A during San Diego Comic Con. We also entered the current century because the Q&A is in the form of a video. This time YOU get to see the wry smiles and illuminating expressions on the Hasbro Team’s faces. While we focused our efforts on learning as much as we could about The Vintage Collection, there is plenty of stuff here on The Black Series 6″ line and 5POA as well. Reissue older 6″ figures? Gray-haired Han Solo? Using 6″ to make SA 3.75″ and vice versa? Will there be more 40th anniversary love in TVC? Will there be 40th The Empire Strikes Back figures? What about the fate of playsets? You’ll get the answers to all of these questions and more, so be sure to check out what this beautiful bunch of people had to say by clicking the thumbnail below!

Well, now that we know we ain’t seeing these SDCC exclusives any time soon, we’re sure some of you are going to resort to eBay. X-34 Landspeeder And Luke Skywalker, Rey (Jedi Training)/Luke Skywalker (Jedi Master) and Grand Admiral Thrawn await you.
We have been forwarded some intel from a source of ours that the SDCC exclusives on Hasbro Toy Shop might be delayed until September. There is an UNVERIFIED rumor that Hasbro could be holding stock back for the HASCON event coming later this year. Stay tuned as we learn more.
UPDATE: This rumor is confirmed. Hasbro has contacted us and released this information to share with our audience: “Hope you’re having a great weekend! We wanted to reach out to clarify that the availability date for the Hasbro Star Wars SDCC exclusives on Hasbro Toy Shop has changed to September.”

Yes! Another rumor report of ours has been confirmed! Do you remember this rumor report from 2014? Today during the Hasbro presentation at SDCC, Joe Ninivaggi joked about how long it took them to work in Captain Rex into The Black Series 6″ line. He even admitted to the three-year long delay in getting this figure out! Captain Rex looks beautiful! This is great news indeed! Hey, if it took them three years from our rumor report of The Vintage Collection returning for it to happen, we’ll also let three years of waiting for Captain Rex to become a reality too!
Do you remember this recent “rumor report” of ours? Between the super-articulated wampa and the 5POA action figures coming with swivel wrists and other extra moving parts, we applaud Hasbro for including articulation where it makes sense. Keep it up!
Click through for some very important notes about The Vintage Collection from Hasbro’s presentation at San Diego Comic Con….
UPDATE: Star Wars Action News confirmed that “old” The Vintage Collection figures that are reissued in the “new” The Vintage Collection line will keep their original number. So, if Dengar was reissued, he would remain VC01.

Both of us were happy to find out it is real and in great condition. Well, the seller dropped the price back down to $37.50 with free shipping. So if you still want a legitimate Darth Maul to go with your new 6″ Qui-Gon, now is the time to jump! Only a few left.

Four years ago today, Jedi Temple Archives organized and coordinated an unprecedented event within the Star Wars collecting community: a celebration of the magnificent The Vintage Collection basic figure line (which originally ran from the middle of 2010 through sporadic parts of 2013) and entitled it A Digested Look At The Vintage Collection. We rounded up the best Star Wars fan sites on the web together to rank the Top 25 greatest figures in The Vintage Collection basic figure line. But most importantly, we even got Hasbro on board where three of their finest, including Dave Vennemeyer (who has been with the Star Wars brand since the start), chose their own top picks as well.
Because The Vintage Collection is returning in Spring 2018, we thought this would be the perfect opportunity to re-share this amazing JTA Special Report with the collecting community. Many have left the hobby, but many have joined in and those that have remained are in for a treat next year. Besides, they get to see this report again. Our hope is that the new Hasbro brand team takes notes about what made the original The Vintage Collection so powerful and that they will ensure they focus on characters like those who made the Top 25 ranking (and even those listed in the honorable mentions). This is all necessary for the line to be successful. Know your audience, Hasbro. That is ALL we ask. Anyway, please enjoy this report for the first time or once again. Enjoy!

Special thanks to Hasbro Design Director Steve Evans for sharing the image below on his Intsagram. If you were wondering how her face looks so similar to Daisy Ridley, Steve commented and said “Our new Rey. New face application technique will be implemented on our 6″ Black Series figs from spring 2018 onwards” So hopefully this means we will be getting some amazing looking new faces coming our way. We really hope that Hasbro does collectors a solid this year. It would be great if on Force Friday there was enough stock so that all collectors could buy the figures they want to buy. It seems that main characters like the upcoming Luke Skywalker, Grand Admiral Thrawn, Rey and the rumored Snoke would be ideal candidates for mass distribution. But from our perspective, we see things turning out for the best in this respect.
Sideshow Collectibles is not holding back on their Life-Size figure collection! In addition to the gigantic K-2SO figure on display, Sideshow announced the addition of a Life-Size Death Trooper. Well, it’s still in Rogue One packaging, but hopefully you catch our drift. Good news! It looks as if the Bistan/Shoretrooper Captain Two-Pack will be released in The Last Jedi/Rogue One line. If you look carefully at the bottom of the Instagram Rathtar image you will see the packaging for this elusive set! Hopefully this comes to pass!
Early images are coming in from SDCC and Instagram user talker-art has posted images of the new Hasbro 3.75″ Rathtar with pack-in Bala-Tik figure. Hey, that wasn’t such a “bad idea” we had a while back huh? What a “coincidence”! Special thanks to our friends at BanthaSkull.com for alerting us to their article that our “rumor report” was true.
The Star Wars “Saga” Deluxe line included some neat environmental displays. The Yoda (With Super Battle Droid) set is a perfect example of that. See why in our Research Droids Reviews today. Hasbro’s own OFFICIAL SITE has also added the Grand Admiral Thrawn ($49.99 – Ouch!) and Luke Skywalker & Landspeeder ($89.99) pages too!!
Hasbro’s own OFFICIAL SITE has added the Rey (Jedi Training)/Luke Skywalker (Jedi Master) 6″ SDCC exclusive two-pack to their product pages. It has an MSRP of $49.99 and an order date of August 14, 2017. If Hasbro gets upset at this post my head will honestly explode. See the proof for yourself HERE. And click through for a detailed description. Special thanks to JTA reader Marcel for the alert to this product page!
Disney snuck this one in under the radar. This is a new Elite Series Die-cast 6″ six figure gift set that was limited to 500 pieces only. Unfortunately, the only new figure in there is the Scarif Stormtrooper which I think looks great. Hopefully, this figure makes it to retail in its own packaging along with the Premium Elites released at D23 later on this year. Thanks to JTA reader and friend Charlie for the find!
I am speechless. I am without speech. Because of this, just click through and see incredible madness for yourself.
StarWars.com has an exclusive look at the newly revealed Life-Size K-2SO. This will be on display at SDCC this week, and will most surely be HUGE! Get the full story after the jump!
Found! JTA Facebook reader Mike K. sends us proof that his local California TARGET has put out the Forces Of Destiny figures. Interesting!
Those of you who are Disney Movie Rewards members and who have 500 points can now grab, for free, the first teaser poster for The Last Jedi. Click here for the DMR site. A big thanks to JTA reader Zach for alerting us! This must have just been added! I checked the site not 4 hours ago and it was not on there.
“There are no black people on Game of Thrones,” Boyega says. “You don’t see one black person in Lord of the Rings. And though Star Wars had featured a few black characters — Billy Dee Williams as a smuggler, Samuel L. Jackson as a peripheral Jedi — they were less represented in the galaxy than Ewoks. I ain’t paying money to always see one type of person on-screen,” says Boyega. “Because you see different people from different backgrounds, different cultures, every day. Even if you’re a racist, you have to live with that. We can ruffle up some feathers.” Wow, John. I don’t see how that makes Game of Thrones or Lord of the Rings unwatchable. I mean, we had to sit through The Force Awakens watching your nonstop panting. See how crippling identity politics is, folks? See the full interview at GQ.
UPDATE: NEW DEBATE – Did Boyega really mean “He won’t pay to see predominantly white casts? Or did he really mean “I don’t pay all of this money to see movies just to see a predominantly all-white cast. There are other people in this world…. it’s disappointing.” There is a fine line of difference here, but both are still in poor taste in my opinion. Either way, GQ should have elaborated on these quotes in a way to make them less incendiary. What do you think?
European/UK site Kapowtoys.co.uk is taking pre-orders for the SDCC exclusive Luke Skywalker & Landspeeder as well as the Grand Admiral Thrawn set. Special thanks to JTA reader Kam for the alert! Man, I hope these are plentiful this year!
Recently, Trevorrow’s newest film The Book of Henry was screened in Italy at the Ischia Global Film Festival where he received the ‘Breakout Director’ Award. This had a lot of critics and fans alike on edge after the poor reviews and the question was brought up once again; Is Trevorrow the right man for the job? The Hollywood Reporter recently sat down with the director, click through to see what he has to say.

If you placed your fulfillment order for the controversial Monopoly Rey token figure, they’re arriving courtesy of Hasbro’s customer service. Are we sure Hasbro didn’t take the Rey out of their unsold The Force Awakens Micro Machine sets and poly-bag them for this gesture? We kid, we kid. But yikes! She ain’t too pretty! Special thanks to JTA reader Daniel D. for the news and images!
Over the weekend, EA released a new video that offered a behind the scenes look at the story of Battlefront II. The video also introduces the members of Inferno Squad and features gameplay from the campaign. Check it out! (more…)
JTA has learned that retailers in Europe are being offered new opportunities to pre-order wave 2 of The Black Series [Star Wars 40] line. As you know, JTA alerted you to the news that all of the 40th anniversary figures were out of production. This new development may (or may not) bode well for American collectors. If there are enough requests for another run, perhaps we will see another run of these figures. Keep it here are we learn more. “Wave 2 will be back in production for October after a considerable reduction in the first shipment. And we would like to apologize for this back and forth from our suppliers….” Again, please keep in mind that this is what is happening for Europe at the moment, not the USA (yet).
If you still need to pick up a Luke, Leia, or Obi-Wan, Kmart has them for $16.99. If you haven’t already, you can sign up for Kmarts shoppers points and typically get $10 off of your order right away. That could be some good savings on those figures or the First Order 6″ TIE Fighter which is listed at $64.40. They have R2-D2 listed as in stock and you can add it to your cart, but it’s a cruel joke. It doesn’t let you check out. Don’t forget, free shipping on orders over $49
UPDATE: Figures are actually out of stock. As soon as you go to your cart there is an error message. Sorry for the false alarm, we’re just trying to help everyone out!

Rian Johnson appeared on stage alone since Kathleen Kennedy is apparently on set with Ron Howard at the ‘Han Solo’ shoot. They showed some behind-the-scenes stills and the brought out Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, and Gwendoline Christie (which Johnson joked about already trying to get GoT spoliers from) and then they brought out the newcomers Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern, and Benicio Del Toro. And, a behind-the-scenes sizzle reel. Read more after the jump
A user on Reddit recently uncovered the source code for the official Disney Parks Blog which had the words “Galaxy’s Edge” attached to it. I don’t know about you, but that sounds a HECK of a lot better than Star Wars Land. Though there is no official confirmation yet, it may be officially announced today so stay tuned. You can view the source code here. Thanks to JTA Reader Richard for the heads up!

A Reddit user has found a listing on Walmart.com that shows a new The Last Jedi pinball game. I mean, wow…exciting, but what this actually provided was a new look at three different Praetorian Guards, one new Stromtrooper Design, new look at Kylo Ren, a look at a brand new creature called “Porgs” as well as some other images. Again, these are spoilers so enter at your own risk!
Anticipation is swelling for the new Battlefront II game, especially since there will be (what appears to be) a fantastic campaign mode. To calm the masses, StarWars.com has released a brand-new excerpt from Christie Golden’s upcoming novel Battlefront II: Inferno Squad. You can read more about it and the excerpt here.
It’s hard to believe: so many collector have yet to see ANY 40th anniversary figures on the shelves while others are finding them for less than $4 a piece. It might be time to stalk your local TARGET. JTA reader Marcel E. found the 40th anniversary Princess Leia Organa for a mere $3.98. Insanity!

….or does it? Ever since Episode VII was announced and we found out there was a female lead AND a black Stormtrooper, there was constant debates and some outright horrible statements being made. Then Disney put yet ANOTHER female in the lead role of their next Star Wars film; Rogue One. This has sparked many more debates on whether Emperor Kennedy is only looking to cast strong female leads, but now that is over! (maybe..) DigitalSpy published an article that finally put the ongoing diversity issue in terms the industry can understand….diverse casts make all-around more money! Read all about this here and let us know your thoughts in the comments below. (this should be fun)
DISCLAIMER: The term “Emperor Kennedy” is meant to be tongue-in-cheek and is not meant to be taken as negative views towards the diversity article. This is just a loving term I coined for humor.
A couple things to discuss about Target today. In Targets, in what seems like all over the country, they are clearancing out a TON of Star Wars items. I know my Target in Milltown, NJ has begun putting almost everything on clearance except for a few notable items such as the TBS Rogue One 3-pack and the Rhino Tank Driver. We also received some images from readers on discounted items which you can view below. Which the good comes the bad. Check out the shipping horror story that Jason experienced after the jump
Update: More shipping damages! See below.
If you’re a fan of the Force FX Lightsabers, then Obi-Wan’s is a must! I always hated the fact that the blades were not removable, but in reality they come out easily (most of them) and undamaged if you just want to display the hilt (like I do). JTA Reader and friend sends us a report of finding this at his local Walmart in NJ. It might be time to start checking yours and avoid paying eBay prices. It is a great looking hilt. Are these in your area? Let us know
As of the time of this post, the Emperor’s Royal Guard is IN STOCK for $10.83!
UPDATE: It’s history – keep checking throughout the day! These have been popping in and out of stock!
Neither can I! Ever since it was announced, I was making plans to borrow my niece so that I could take a trip to Disney when it opens. It sounds so amazing with all the interactive properties that immerse you in A Galaxy Far, Far Away. And now the official Star Wars Facebook page has given us a look at the models for Star Wars Land (I sort of hope they tweak the title) that they revealed at D23 Expo. Click here to look at all the beautiful images.
Sigh. The brand new Darth Maul [2017] Premium Format Figure doesn’t really wow us (for a few reasons). Find out why this is so in our Research Droids Reviews today. If you’re trying to get your hands on the Rey Token that is missing from Monopoly, you need only jump through a few hoops. JTA Reader Derek shows us what he needed to do to acquire this piece from Hasbro. Click the image to see what is required. I guess they’re keeping track of who wants the piece since Age & Gender of the person using the product is part of the test!
A Reddit user share a LOT of leaks regarding Lego Sets for the upcoming The Last Jedi product release. These features lots of vehicles, mini-figures, and build-able characters. We get a great look at one of the Praetorian Guard designs, so if you’d like to take a look enter at you’re own risk! Spoilers ahead!
We previously reported on the IDW comic series coming this September that will span across the entire saga, but now StarWars.com has given us a preview of the upcoming issue being released at SDCC this year. This series will be an all-ages comic, which is why I think this was given to IDW publishing as opposed to Marvel. It seems to have a Forces Of Destiny feel to it with regards to the artistic style. Check out the story and download the preview here!
Finally! After 11 years we get an updated sixth scale Luke Skywalker (Jedi Knight) figure! And it looks brilliant! Click through to check out the full gallery on the Hot Toys Facebook page!

The 104th Battalion Ultimate Gift Set is BACK IN STOCK at TARGET.com. You can see our own review on these figures HERE. I remember this showing up on TARGET.com a couple of years ago for about $50, but the price has been adjusted back to its normal MSRP of $29.99. A cursory eBay search will prove to you that these sets average about $75 on the aftermarket and some of the clones in this set go for $30 each loose. If you never got this set, this might be your last chance to grab it for a decent price! Special thanks to JTA reader ThorsWars12 for the alert!
UPDATE: Now out of stock!
I am still debating whether to pay matinee prices for this film. Although for charity, the current bid of this eBay auction is honestly ridiculous.

It may be more than just a coincidence that we’re seeing “rumors” about a conscious move away from 5POA as well as the return of The Vintage Collection. It seems like a last ditch effort to revitalize the Star Wars toy line. (more….)
Check out the 2017 SDCC exclusive Holographic Princess Leia Collector’s Gallery Statue. And, if you didn’t have a chance to pick one up at Celebration Orlando this year, you have another chance to pick up the 2017 Convention Exclusive Han Solo McQuarrie Concept Mini Bust at SDCC.

The Vintage Collection TIE Interceptor is on Lightning Deal on Amazon!
Director of The Last Jedi, Rian Johnson, confirmed via Twitter that he will be attending D23 this week. It has been said that there will not be a new trailer shown at D23, but rumors suggest we will be getting a Behind The Scenes reel. We also don’t know in what capacity Rian Johnson will be participating, if at all, in TLJ panel. He could very well just be attending for the sake of attending, however, I think that is unlikely. More on this after the jump!
Hasbro – do you see this? Please assuage the collecting community’s panic by confirming that Fenn Rau is coming in The Last Jedi basic figure assortment on Force Friday. We will burn our manssierres until we get him! #wheresfennrau

The eighth episode of Forces of Destiny was released late last night. The latest installment found Princess Leia and Sabine trying to escape IG-88. Although it was great to see IG-88 show up since he’s an underutilized character, this was probably my least favorite episode so far. Check it out and judge for yourself!
It’s time for more Saga Legends. Let’s check out General Grievous. This protocol droid is the focus of our Research Droids Reviews today. Oh my heck! It’s another Festivus miracle! Aside from TARGET exclusives, my local TARGET has received NOTHING NEW since Rogue Friday last September (they even still have more than a half dozen The Force Awakens 5POA figures). But this past Saturday I was stunned to find a broken up case assortment that included three (3) beat-up Stormtroopers, Chewbacca, two (2) Jawas and one (1) Death Squad Commander. The figures were shoved against their will into a tiny peg space not meant for these figures, but hey, I can no longer say I have never seen 40th anniversary figures in the wild. Shocking!
This will likely be old news for many, but we were pleasantly surprised when we randomly stopped by the Disney Infinity figure aisle at our local Toys R Us and discovered the figures were BUY ONE (1) GET FOUR (4) FREE. You read that right. We just couldn’t pass on the deal!
The latest episode of Force of Destiny has been released and this time Jyn Erso is the focus. Felicity Jones returned to voice Jyn for this episode. It’s a pretty fun episode and it was nice to see Jyn again since she probably won’t be featured in many upcoming stories. Check it out!
Walmart.com has lowered the price of the ever-popular The Black Series 6″ First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter to $65, down from the $74 they dropped it to less than two weeks ago. If you still need this, now might be a great time to grab it. If I had more room, I might actually grab a couple more of these. You also get free shipping or free in-store pickup. Special thanks to JTA reader Craig for the alert!
You can now watch the Forces of Destiny episodes On Demand on Disney Channel and on the Disney app. So far, only the first two episodes (Sands of Jakku and BB-8 Bandits) are currently available, but the rest are to be added later on. I’ll admit, it was a bit better watching them in HD on a larger screen without needing to stream or plug anything. The next new episode is due out today on Disney’s YouTube channel.
Attendees of SDCC will be among the first to see this new Sideshow Collectibles Premium Format Figure. Sideshow teased the Stormtrooper Premium Format Figuree in their latest newsletter. Click here for a direct link to the teaser page.

For those in Canada still searching for this, EBGames.ca has them in stock for $36. JTA Reader BB-Mate also lets us know that they are available in London Ontario stores for $30 CAD. If you still need it, might be time to snatch it up as it will become less and less available.
Toys R Us seems to have a 40% sale going on in select stores making The Black Series 6″ figures $11.99. You may be able to find some gems depending on your TRU location and who doesn’t need more Hovertank Pilots? JTA reader Jason sends in this image from his local TRU in OH. Does your TRU have this sale going on as well? Let us know!
Sears Holdings Corporation recently announced in their Blog that 8 Sears and 35 Kmart stores deemed unprofitable are set to close. This is part of their “strategy” to address loses as well as reduced the square footage of some of their other stores because they are “simply too big for our current needs.” What kind of effect will this have on future TBS6 Exclusives? Hopefully, this will mean finding somewhere else to distribute future exclusives. I personally liked the environmental pieces with K-Mart exclusives, although they could have been handled a bit better. Click Here for a list of the stores set for closing.

UPDATE: DSC still in stock as of July 8th 11:20 AM
Today’s episode is one that I personally love. It involves our dear Princess on Hoth and of course, Wampas! The Wampas in Echo Base was one of my all-time favorite deleted scenes, so it’s nice to see a bit more of that in this short, even though this is prior to ESB when they’re setting up Echo Base. In this episode, Wampas break into echo base while Chewie, Leia, and R2 try to deal with it! I’m enjoying these much more than I originally anticipated.
Do you want to throw up in your mouth a little? While that question may be rhetorical, it’s likely what will happen when you looks at what the SWCO exclusive Luke Skywalker (X-wing Fighter Pilot) figure is going for on eBay. I totally never saw this one coming. Ridiculous. Thanks to JTA reader Aldo S. for alerting us to this madness. See active listings HERE and be sure to check out the completed ones too!
We’re one issue away from seeing the finale of this mini-series play out, but meanwhile this was an epic issue. The co-operation between Maul and Eldra plays out so well, but you can feel the tension as it builds between them. Make sure you check out this latest addition in the Research Droids Reviews Comics section with Darth Maul #4. Come and see why you should be excited for the final showdown. Be sure to leave your thoughts and opinions in the comments and don’t forget to drop me a line with your comic review requests!
We’re all over the moon about the possibilities with the return of The Vintage Collection. But we want to know how you’d react if the line opens up with a wave of straight The Force Awakens repacks (plus or minus an all-new figure). It seems many collectors are anxious about this and with the difficulty of the Walmart exclusive SA 3.75″ line making an impact at the brick and mortar level, you’d have to wonder if there are plans to get these figures out again but in the way they were always intended. Would it sour TVC’s re-arrival for you? Would you be ecstatic? Would you wonder what the heck is going on with Hasbro? Will you feel that new Star Wars Entertainment might kill the spirit and intent of this coveted line? Let us know your thoughts. (Special thanks to Sebastian E. at Blizzard Force Customs for loaning us these images of his custom TVC-inspired TFA figures. His Facebook page can be found HERE.)
Hasbro was able to re-release the Japanese exclusive Remote Control R2-D2 figure as a TARGET exclusive in The Legacy Collection. Check it out in our Research Droids Reviews today. So. What’s the deal with Hasbro’s “great retail partner” Walmart and them scalping their own items (most notably The Black Series 6″ figures) on their website? JTA did some investigative research and we have an answer for you. Are you curious to know what’s really going on here and tired of speculating about it? Well, we know why. (more….)
As I was picking up some comics, I decided to swing by the Target and see what was happening there. Alas, no 40th figures and barely any clearance items honestly (although there was a TON of 5POA TFA figures still full price on the shelves), but what I did see was one Vader Legacy pack sitting there with a clearance of $27.99. Now, I was going to wait on this since I’ve seen them lower from other reports, but for some reason I decided to scan it and lo and behold it was down to $19.98. I recommend checking your Target because they may just not have updated the stickers.
Remember Nahdar Vebb? This awesome character from The Clone Wars television show was produced as a mail-away exclusive in The Clone Wars [Red] line. I just found multiples of this figure available for $15 shipped (which is great because of its aftermarket value as well as having to pay $7 shipping and handling to Hasbro just to get the figure in 2009). If you’re interested, get it for a decent price and FREE shipping on eBay. Limited quantities are available.
This is not something we as collectors are unfamiliar with. Walmart has done this before, but just look at the egregious prices Walmart is selling Wave 2 at. These have been coming in and out of stock at this price since the announcement came of the discontinuation. What’s worse, they sell out within minutes. This is who we had to rely on for our 3.75″ SA figures for awhile…thankfully that is ending. Click through to see more images.
This new episode focuses on Ahsoka Tano. She’s on her way to a Jedi Ceremony, but get’s sidetracked as Ahsoka typically does. Check it out!
You’ve surely seen the store reports from TARGET now, but what you’re probably not being told is that many stores are only receiving partial/split/broken up cases. You think there might be limited availability of these or something, huh? JTA reader Brandon Y. shares his own local five (5) TARGET store stops and couldn’t compete a case between them. Let us know what you’re finding in the wild….
In case you need any of them, waves 8, 9 and 11 of The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ line are ALL hot off of the truck at Entertainment Earth!
ToysRUs.com releases details about their exclusive The Black Series [Phase III] 6″ Commander Gree as well as their other SDCC exclusives. SPOILER: It will be available July 20th online. Check out the rest of the details online!
Hasbro repacked some of their most popular vehicles into The Clone Wars [Red] line. Let’s finish up with the Trade Federation Armored Assault Tank (AAT). Have you seen Episode 3 of Forces of Destiny? I can’t believe Disney let this leak out as is without censoring it. It’s actually great and more importantly agenda free. It also may serve as canon for a scene we didn’t see in Episode VI that explains General Leia’s abrupt wardrobe change! Check it out!
There is a Star Wars section in the Amazon Daily Deals today that features up to 30% off Star Wars favorites. There really is a little bit of everything in there, so it might be worth taking a look. Some highlights would be TBS6 [P3] Death Trooper for $11.47 and TBS6 [P3] Unmasked Kylo Ren for a mere $7.55 and the Legendary Jedi Training Yoda for $39.95 with all of these qualifying for free One-Day shipping. Thanks to JTA reader Adam for the alert!
With the D23 Expo rapidly approaching, many people have been listing eBay pre-orders for the Exclusive D23 Droid Factory R5-D23 that was originally announced at SWCO. Obviously we’re all used to seeing the convention exclusive pre-order craze hit eBay, but I would expect not needing to pay scalper prices on this. Also planned are Hero/Villain Duo Limited Edition Star Wars Elite Series Premium numbered at 1000 only. These feature Rey/Kylo Ren, Jyn/Krennic, and Leia/Vader. I don’t know what is different from the regular releases, but hopefully something significant to warrant the $79.95 price tag. Special thanks to Charlie for the heads up.

I walk past this R2-D2 frequently when I go on my WM runs and have even walked to the register with it a few times, but I couldn’t pass it up this time. Walmart has rolled this back to only $39.99. This is the R2-D2 that is controlled by the app, does missions, goes into guard mode, and plays AND dances to music. I mean..I always wanted an R2 to play music at my gatherings. I also think it looks pretty amazing as well.
Well, Target has the 40th Anniversary Death Squad Commander in stock online RIGHT NOW! If you need one, I suggest you grab it now!
UPDATE: Well, that went quick!
You’ve seen the clearance at the brick and mortar level start, but now even Hasbro Toys Shop’s eBay store has begun the inevitable ‘clearancing’ out of their latest products. Of note, the Titanium Series 3.75″ figures and even The Black Series 40th Anniversary Legacy Pack have all started on their respective markdown paths. Check it all out.

Gilt City has a lot of great Star Wars items on sale, but there is a certain Chosen One I would highly recommend. Star Wars: The Ultimate Action Figure Collection which was written by Steve Sansweet (Rancho Obi-Wan) with some help from JTA’s own Paul Harrison, AND it’s on sale for only $22! To make it even better, use promo code: THE4TH to get $10 off your order. This sale is for today only!
Kohl’s is having a significant sale on many, many Star Wars items. I know I’ve had my eye on that Deluxe BB-8 for awhile and now I have an excuse to pull the trigger (However, as far as PSE&G is concerned, my wallet was stolen!). As a bonus, everyone earns $10 Kohl’s cash for every $50 spent. This sale ends today!

Hey! Listen up if you’re a resident of AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MS, TN or TX! If you live in one of these states, you should probably check your local Dirt Cheap stores! JTA reader Ben H. has found the TBS6 [P3] Scarif Stormtrooper Squad Leader 6″ figure for a mere $10 at this retailer. Many people haven’t even seen this figure in the wild. Let us know if you also have success at these stores.
It’s been a very long time since we have Battle Packs…. or even decent Original Trilogy multipacks. Hasbro is surely missing out on making collectors happy by ignoring these types of mediums. They’re perfect for releasing “super-sized” characters into the toy line that won’t fit into traditional 3.75-inch packaging. What if they produced a sub-line to accommodate these larger figures and include a standard pack-in figure with it for extra value? We think the below example of an Imperial Probe Droid with Darth Vader is a pretty good idea. But knowing that we’re up against so much new Star Wars Entertainment, we wonder if this will even be a focus of theirs. Think of it perhaps as a revised take on the Deluxe line. What do you think?
The first episode of the new animated micro-series Star Wars: Forces of Destiny premiered on Disney’s YouTube channel this morning. Click through to watch the first episode!
JTA Reader Christian C. brings to our attention that his local Target has dropped the price of The 40th Anniversary Darth Vader Legacy Pack down to $19.99! That is closer to what they really needed to price this figure at to begin with. I believe $24.99 or at the MOST $29.99 would have been more reasonable, but $39.99 was extremely high. Even for a figure that is of an extremely amazing quality such as this Darth Vader is. Heck, I will most definitely be buying up a few more at this price! Have you seen this in your area yet?
UPDATE: This specific Target is located in Texas.

Amazon is NOW MATCHING the Best Buy price for the Jedha Revolt four-pack. Special thanks to JTA reader and friend Steve U. for sharing the news!
Every Star Wars film has produced a toy line that has featured a “villain” beast to date, save for The Force Awakens. While opinions of Star Wars fans (and collectors) vary greatly on these beasts (some love them, some loathe them), it would make sense to us if Hasbro produced the Rathtar for the 3.75″ line to balance things out a bit more; especially since we have the Guavian Enforcer and Tasu Leech (in 3.75″ scale)…. It seems like a potentially missed opportunity, no?
No…There is another… possible shipment on the way to your store. Even though we have been careful to point this out in our previous articles, there still seems to be some confusion and I told you so’s, so I will clear this up as best as I can. Hasbro HAS shipped the last of their TBS6 [40] Wave 2. That means those shipments will be going to retailers and distribution centers where they will be sent to stores, not that Wave 2 has suddenly disappeared off the Earth and seeing them on shelves is a conspiracy. So, you may be seeing them in stores until the distribution centers run dry. If you still need them, it might be time to start checking stores. JTA Reader Richard sends us an image of Wave 2 Pallets on their way to Target. Keep an eye out!

Now THIS is a price I can get behind! In fact, I have been passing this by since it’s release even thought I really, really wanted to add Saw to the collection. Best Buy has this set listed at $12.99. Thanks to Agustin for the news!
If you’re a Pop! collector (or even if you’re not) you definitely want to add this Darth Vader In His Tie to your collection. I haven’t been able to find it in stores yet and I really love the way they did this Pop! with the top of the Death Star as the base. Thanks to JTA Reader Eric for the heads up!
